  1. Has anyone got a nice 30.9mm rigid seat post they don't use? I have a Thompson elite 31.6mm barely used I'd like to swop for a 30.9mm of similar quality please. Preferably Cape Town
  2. Sure, but by the title of the thread I want to find a free one that would have otherwise been thrown out with a dead battery/light 😜
  3. Hi All I'm looking for a charger for my bike light batteries - has anyone got one they no longer need? Often the batteries die first, but not in my case. I have those pretty generic 4cell lithium packs with velcro straps and a cable and plug. Thanks! edit: preferably in ct southern suburbs, otherwise I can organise courier too
  4. Hi, I bought an ecoflow river pro recently. I compared it to an equivalent Jackery and the ecoflow looked better because it had a proper ac bypass for UPS functionality, and a fast charge off AC. It fully recharges in 1.6hrs. It has 720wh, and a maximum of 600W AC output. It can run higher power appliances too using x-boost, but limits their power to 600w. So it can power the kettle, just takes a bit longer to boil. It is a very impressive device and I recommend it!
  5. When i got my silvia i also tried to use a krups grinder and got thoroughly rejected. The silvia is a tough nut to crack. Part of the reason is the pressure is very high. There is a pressure relief valve inside the machine that you can use to adjust the pressure to calm things down a bit. I adjusted mine down to 8 or 9 bar and bought a much better grinder, best decision ever for consistently easy good shots.
  6. I have contacted Wayne at Rapide and they no longer have stock, that is why I am reaching out. The cap got lost while transporting the bike with the front wheel off.
  7. Hi Guys Does anybody have a spare 15x100 Rapide ultralight hub end cap or complete hub to pull an end cap from? Or a Novatec D711SB also fits. I made a wanted ad too. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/mountain-bike-hubs/400687/need-a-rapide-hub-endcap Thanks
  8. Maybe check your spoke tension... they can make a horrible noise when pedaling hard if they aren't tight enough.
  9. Heading off to add my down-vote...
  10. I wouldn't recommend this, that fuller taste you are getting is just an added layer of staleness to your fresh brew. Unless you are using stale beans of course, then yes that taste will be amplified...
  11. They are available online at https://www.cogentindustries.co.za/product/chaintamer/ Otherwise Woodstock cycleworks and Stoke suspension both have in Cape Town.
  12. Quite a different looking system which is cool, but I find the whole bike fugly. Maybe it'll grow on me... Regarding the hush-hush vibe about how it actually works, i think there really isn't much to say so he'd rather keep it mysterious. To me it's clear that chain tension will try to push that cylinder back in thereby propping the suspension high in it's travel. Just look at the rear derailleur showing the amount of chain growth as the suspension compresses. That will make the suspension firmer to pedal but it will also make pedal feedback while going downhill pretty noticeable - some say that's a disadvantage. Essentially: a suspension system that offers a platform due to pedaling implies chain growth, which brings with it pedal feedback. Finding the balance between the two will always be a compromise. In my opinion.
  13. I recently went through the same process and got slightly burnt. I had a low end home espresso machine for years with a Krups burr grinder. Espresso packed up so I did my research and picked up the Silvia. First impression, lovely machine- built like a tank and really oozes confidence in longevity. However my Idea to "use the krups burr grinder for now", huge mistake. It was not possible to make a decent cup of coffee - tried for 2 weeks. I did more research and uncovered the truth written everywhere: the quality of the grinder is as much if not more important than the coffee machine. You have to make a proper budget for a proper grinder if you want to use a grown up espresso machine. I wouldn't go any lower than something like this: http://capecoffeebeans.co.za/products/baratza-encore-conical-burr-coffee-grinder?variant=18764048452 Ideally this: http://capecoffeebeans.co.za/products/rancilio-rocky-espresso-grinder Or best something proper: http://coffeeandtea.co.za/mini-mazzer-grinder I went for a compak K3 (cheaper competitor to a mazzer mini) and my home espresso/Americano/cappucino production is approaching god-like status.
