  1. I always stop at red lights. But must be honest I dont often dead stop at stop signs. Must say in Durbanville most cars at Stops will wave you on to ride so you don't have to stop.
  2. I could arrange a venue at out church with under roof braai facilities. I will check for an available date and then start a topic to see who would be interested.
  3. There is an honesty box. Just drop your money there. You can ride from sunrise to sundown
  4. I must say much respect to everyone who did it. I was in Wellington doing my rugby coaching duties against Hugenote HS and staring at the Mountains and stading in the rain I could only #imagine the race! Big Ups People! Ps, maybe we should arrange a get together for hubbers in the Cape Town area? I could arrange a venue in DBV?
  5. As soon as I am confident enought with my skill I will do races. Think it must be loads of fun. For now keeping me away is also that I don't want to be that slow rider holding you up on the single track.
  6. I was there at around 9:30 and was shown away at the gate next to the N7
  7. Went to Koeberg for a ride today. Was told at the gate that Koeberg is closed till further notice to cyclist. Just thought would post it here so people don't drive down there for nothing.
  8. Oak Valley with some friends!
  9. What would you say is the best MTB trails around the Western Cape to take the family for a ride?
  10. Thanks people. The GPX route was just to have a look at the route before hand. Can anybody tell me the skill required for the Red 21km route. Taking my wife with. Think I would be able to handle the red, not sure about my wife? My wife has only done 80km of MTB and very very little singletrack
  11. Hi. Anybody maybe have .gpx files for the different routes at Oak Valley? Heading out there tomorrow and would be great if someone have them.
  12. 6-8 weeks for a coller Bone. Don't rush it. Broke mine end Januarie at Meerendal (Mineshaft) only now feeling great again.
  13. I am glad I came across this tread. But I am not doing the 60km. I am doing the 14km with my wife. This will be the first ride. Is it like most races that the 14km(shortest route) is a total family affair? Don't want to hectic stuff for my wifes first ride as I want to get her keen on the sport and not let her have a nightmare and never want to do a thing again?
  14. Thanks guys for all the help and info!
  15. What would you say is a realistic time/distance for a chain on a MTB to last? I just replaced my chain with a Shimano HG93 chain. Any views on the Shimano HG93?
  16. I guess you will get a bunch of opinions. I love my Gopro 3 black. I always take it with me when I get on my bike because you never know what you can catch. Having the record video and take pictures at the same time makes is great. Having a look at a ride when I am done always makes me want to get out there and do it again! You must remember that it is what you make of it, for me putting my gopro on is like clipping my garmin on.
  17. Thank you all very much for the feedback! Any other feedback is still welcome! But we will head out there end April.
  18. Hi People. I am thinking of making a trip to Oak Valley with all these lovely public holiday. The thing I would like to know is if my wife would be able to do the single track there? She is really knew to MTB but would love to take her along and willing to go slow so she can also enjoy it? What would you guy say? Really would love to hear your comments. Thanks
  19. Anybody have experience with this challenge? I am thinking about doing it as my first one. Not that unfit. But not very good with technical stuff. Can a beginner do the 18km? Some advice would be great!
  20. Yes I do but you are looking at a price difference of R2500 for the GoPro 3+.
  21. Dion Wired is currently selling there GoPro 3 Black Edition for R4000. I am posting it here as I hope it could benefit some fellow cyclists. The new Gopro 3+ is R2500 more, but one does not really need anything better than the GoPro 3 Black. So hope some fellow cyclist have the opportunity to benefit from this. I sure did when I got mine today.
  22. Anybody would like to pick the best and why?
  23. Strava Hands Down
  24. Any one of you perhaps own a pair of these? Any info on what you think of them?
  25. Hey guys I just bought my first pair of Mountain Bike shoes a week ago. I want to start using them, but Im not sure if they are the right fit? The are not to tight, but feel like my feet moves around in them a bit. The heel lifts slightly out. Im not sure how they should feel as this is my first pair. Any suggestion and advice will be welcome. Thanks
