  1. Chapeau to the guys from Sweet-Orr Racing who pulled group E basically all day! Wonderful day out, congrats to the organisers. Let's hope we get to see more road races on the calendar again...
  2. The perfect kit for 10 years ago, imho.
  3. Just wanted to add a +1 here. I logged the broken dial on 17 Jan and received a new one from Austria on 20 Jan free of charge. Incredible! Thanks for the info on this thread
  4. I also shaped to take the sharp left because the marshal was seemingly indicating so. Fortunately I was able to correct when I saw the crash scene. That was really poor marshaling and completely avoidable. RIP fellow cyclist. This is truly tragic. Condolences to his family and friends.
  5. I have to agree on their amazing service. I also had stellar support from the Ikhambi team. My Kickr Core also died due to an ESD error. I sent them a video as proof and the invoice. Even though it was out of warranty and I was the 2nd owner, they still sent me replacement in record time. Happy to support and recommend to friends
  6. There's plenty of worthwhile causes. I'm sure Velokhaya or Songezo will gladly accept, especially considering their kids needs smaller size kit. I'm happy to collect, or connect you to Velokhaya directly I did a big collection in December and they were incredibly thankful. I actually got passed by a kid on Polka who was wearing my old kit
  7. I feel like we'll receive the cancellation email this morning... Oh well, at least we have Tour De Zwift
  8. Are these on the 'Dale yet? Let's see some pics
  9. I'm doing a collection for Velokhaya in Khayelitsha. I've already got some kits, shoes etc and I'll be happy for you to contribute. If you're interested please send me a DM. Last year was a big success and the kids were all very appreciative.
  10. I normally stock up on tubes and tyres on BF, but this year already seems disappointing thus far. I know supply chains have been disrupted this year and the USDZAR has blow out, but this year seems like a non-event for bike shops. Hope I'm wrong and we see a mega clearance sale on Friday
  11. I'm also keen to give them a try...surely they can give us a sneaky Black Friday deal
  12. Thanks Chris! I've been doing incremental tinkering on my position over the years and done a lot of research on bike fit. I agree that most issues are down to the rider position rather than the component itself, but the saddle is more a case of trial and error. I've been riding a old Spez with no issues, but thought I'd try to the Pro Stealth after seeing some amazing reviews...NOPE...doesn't suit me on road or TT position I just wish we had more test saddles available at bike shops
  13. Been struggling with this myself too lately Are there any LBS's with a wide variety of test saddles in Cape Town? Tried CWC but they have a super limited number available
  14. I saw more covidiots riding in groups this morning around the northern 'burbs of Cape Town. The rules are dumb, but please don't be so blatant about your disregard for them. We'll all be painted with the same brush for the actions of few No harm in riding solo for a few weeks
  15. I still can't believe how many group rides I see on the roads in the mornings. People riding in matching club kit with no shame I know that the rules are silly, but being selfish could ruin it for everyone Don't be a covidiot
  16. My 2c: I've been riding on DH wheels for about 3 years now after buying a 2nd hand set here. I've had to replace the rear as the braking surface started to crack and de-form. DH built a new rear wheel for me at a cost, but using their new wheels. Currently my front wheel is the 1st generation DH wheel and my rear is the newer gen. I feel and see a difference in materials and quality, so chapeau to DH for seeking to continuously improve. I wouldn't expect Zipp or Enve performance from DH, but they're worth considering IMO
  17. I also see it with no major climbs Plotted it on Strava: https://www.strava.com/routes/22051390
  18. I'd also like to know more about the 110km route. Does anyone have an idea?

    The Classics

Sorry for hijacking the tread, but hoping there might be some help around. My wife and I have booked a bus trip for Paris-Roubaix, starting in Belgium and following the race along the cobbled sectors. Has anyone done something like this before and have any tips about the day and night itself? Quite excited to see the race live
  20. All the best for the event, team Cyclopaths! Love what you guys are doing for our sport
  21. Some cool pics of the hammer dropping on the Facebooks too
  22. Chapeau to PPA for a really lekker day out! Perfect weather, well organised, good spirit in the groups on the road too. There was some confusion at the start and half of our group (F-G) went along with the C-E group. We tried hard to catch, but to no avail. Our group worked really well together and only splintered at the end. Big shifts put in at the front of our group, so well done gents and ladies
  23. Perfect conditions and a well organised event. Really appreciated the marshal on a moto and the supporters on the route. I also had a puncture after finding a group to ride tempo with after Bots, so I also have some unfinished business here chapeau, PPA!
  24. Great initiative to get more road cycling races on the calendar. Well done PPA! See you at the start
