  1. Not silly behaviour?????? We saw so many selfish idiots, one took my daughter down
  2. Well done guys - pleased to say I helped you a few times as I had the rtime riding with the kids. Fully agree with your Comments: a true eye opener how many times I had to let go and stop pushing simply because people would not get out the way and give you space to keep the momentum. And sufferd it properly, my daughter had someone lock handlebar with her in Lakeside, dragged her off to the middle of the road at 25+kpm cannot have been unaware but rode off into the distance uncaring
  3. Can anyone shed light on how the mechanics work on the route? My daughter had a puncture last year: she got to Simonstown but the mechanic at the Jubilee Square water stop was far from user friendly. Fair enough to pay for parts although, making that cash only seems wrong? However in a location that is completely run by volunteers the "mechanic" refusing to help her without getting R150 in cash first seems a bit excessive? Even a card or electronic payment system would be better - at least that's trackable. Was this right or was she just an easy target as a 13 year old girl?
  4. Does anyone know much about the accuracy of the SportSplits system for knowing where riders are on the Cycle Tour Route? I know with Racetec it was only after a timing mat and not many, does the new system have any more 'check points'?
  5. Bring them in fast and in big numbers so the Muggers get more turnover?
  6. Has he reported it? Lost phone he should have a case number for insurance. Please try to get that case number to Liz at the PPA
  7. Traffic is no help as said. When I was attacked on the bridge there were some cars passing, some slowing down and hooting to make noise. However nobody stopped and the sad part is that despite what wrapped to me I really don't blame them. 4 people on me one with a gun, I don't blame people for keeping themselves safe
  8. Totally agree; that was the point of maintain as well as police. The route through Paarden Eiland should be good but is used as a loading and dumping ground for businesses in the area. Even Woodstock station has holes in the brick paving. Albert Road is easy to sort out: it just needs kerbs to properly separate the bike lane from the traffic:. IE make it for NMT and not sensibly accessible by cars unless crossing into a property entrance. Still much cheaper than building a new route
  9. There is already a very good route through made for NMT. My city cycle lane to Woodstock. Up onto church street bridge and a cycle lane down Albert Road. Good route just not policed or maintained. Any new route would need policing and maintaining so all they really need to do is sort the existing one out.
  10. Çount me in - it needs a big stop outside SAPS Woodstock. Close Main Road and and get the media there
  11. Please can you try and draw a line of Google Maps showing how you get across? I have looked various times and cannot work out a way to get across from one side to the other. Berkley Road new bridge to Paarden Eiland?
  12. Near impossible at least for a proper pass. I have one as I work there but that is a few years old and I have been told if I lose that Transnet won't replace it. But it would not help much anyway: you still stay the one side of the railway/N1 and often it is nothing short of terrifying with the trucks there
  13. Done on the day - she is fighting hard on this one
  14. Other way - trying to get to the port. Going across Koeburg interchange is near impossible and the big junction in town is a death trap with taxis. This is the way in - it is supposed to be a public road and its not that long. It should be easy to make it safe
  15. Because there is no option to get across the N1 and railway. You clearly don't know the area if you say that
