  1. Been in contact with the organizers and they confirmed the route change and it will be full road closure that was also confirmed from Ekurhuleni also Let's support this race as we support the other even if they also have their problems. And their is What I see also. Jacaranda that is a sponsor is getting more involved with cycling as they also sponsor the Red Barn mtb race and saw they also now a sponsor for the Kremetart race, the number 1 race in the country as most will agree
  2. Normally with ASG. If you register you will receive an sms and on the list that you entered but at the registration they will let you know that no payment was made. I normally follow this route as it gives me the option not to do the race or I did not loose any money if I do get injured or sick before the race.
  3. it's 8 months away. no problem to get fit and get into shape for an event like it
  4. My biggest problem is not the entry fee for a race. That's said if the price is higher than most you do expect that the overall organizing of the event will be great, safety will be excellent, etc but currently or the past year ASG is failing in it and I are hesitant to enter any ASG event. I'm a pro ASG supporter but also not here to throw my money into the water Also skipping Emperors and will rather do Cycle 100 or something like that.
  5. In Cape Town next week but not to cycle in TOGH, very sad face but to let the ball roll for a desalination plant and then back on Friday
  6. no need to get ugly, just different options Do believe it will be more patch work than full resurface, to late to do that now Event is an event. Also we don't know if they brought somebody into their company that do have a lot of experience in cycling event organizing, the municipality will also have all the contacts and in house to be able to get the traffic cops organised
  7. Apologies, only seeing this reply now that they part of the event, they will or so I hope put more focus on repairing the potholes in these sections. Just a quick fb serach. Go West music festival, color run, etc is the events they done.
  8. I often ride on this piece of stretch, all the way to Bapsfontein. The road is not the best but to be honest races like Fast One, Berg en Dale and R4S do have worst sections Yip they did, hope it will be and as I look at the map it do seem that we will have a short section on the R21 highway why is so ideal for many do to it, flat race
  9. Agree they are going through very busy intersections and road surface is not good at certain points. What we must not forget is that Ekurhuleni municipality is also part of the event. Thus the necessary will be done for the race and I brought the potholes up with the organizer a month ago at the section of the "hassie park"and they are going to fill the holes, could not mention how but will be done. I still think that this event can become 1 of the mayor events in Gauteng with the Capital Classic. They have the sponsors and exposure what most smaller events don't have.
  10. N she is using a Garmin 725 different stuff, Vitality alot more simple
  11. my gf is on Multiply and when we drove to Cape Town and back. For each trip of sitting the whole time in the car she was awarded close to 10k steps. Do think it's got to do with the amount of bumps you hit on the road and possible the railway tracks creating an affect of walking
  12. currently on accu weather less than 10% rain before 9 in the morning. just hope the rain stays away the night before that we can atleast see the potholes
  13. I'm also starting VA. luckly im still at the age that I don't qualify to ride with the hard boys
  14. lol I will keep quiet See you then on the line and good luck with your race Good luck to the AL start group. Juniors starting with them guys
  15. example. Cyclelab will not even do it if their sales are not increased by it. Sure they have an increased sales and also future sales
  16. agree, the numbers must rather be a permanent number you do use yearly for all of the events, if reseeding are required your apply for one with a new number to be issued
  17. sal joune optel oom
  18. still believe that was the reason of last years protest as so many eyes was on the residents to make a statement. And it was very dangerous for any cyclist to past it. Wind was a factor but do think to protest was the bigger factor for the cancellation
  19. I rode on a section of the route 2 weeks ago and some areas was attended to but still potholes around the Circus region. Did not go past Suikerbos where most of the potholes was last year
  20. check email afterwards that I said I missed point 13 that's not part of CSA rules as far as I know. Why I requesting for the link of the CSA rules and also as he said "no prize money to licensed riders in the open category, which every rider is expected to adhere to" if the rule does excist then I will know now of it. Stuff does not tie up to believe that CSA database was checked but as asked now by the person that started this post. Will stop now on this debate
  21. maybe the Ocean View to Noordhoek wont happen. Protester might just be there again.
  22. It was brought up and discussion started. You decided to get involved. as requested for the CSA rules. Where does the following stand i.e. no prize money to licensed riders in the open category, which every rider is expected to adhere to.? As said. Decision was made unfairly and or biased. The licenses was not checked at all, the 1 - 6 position as per time was only recognized as familiar racing vets and the next 3 that was the podium finishers position 7 - 9 was not as they not familiar. Position 7 and 9 are racing vet but was awarded. You can't tell me that the racing licenses was checked. How did you know if the rider is a licensed rider or not? Where did you check? Like I asked the 1st time already The other question still remains. Why was the CSA officials so pee-offed with the organizers. What I can say about the CSA officials, they stick to the rules and do know the rules. CSA do have their problems but at the races it's always fair.
  23. clearly you did not go down the list or double checked with CSA if Clyde/Patrick is a licensed rider. See his ractec results especially 2017. Does was he an active holder of a CSA Domestic racing license as the racing license only is from 1 Jan - 31 Dec http://results.racetec.co.za/results_by_person.aspx?PID=584844
  24. appologies, missed point 13 but this rule still not according to CSA rules
  25. On the race rules. point 24 - does not state anything about what you mention about prizes or prize money for the winners. The actual winner did register for the open cat race even if he does have a racing license. Nowhere do they state it and also not on CSA rules that the event followsCSA Rule 3.46.2: The commissaires will do all placing of riders, but may use the electronic timing results to assist to determine final positioning. CSA officials not organizersAs you indicated the win was awarded to Dion. Dion is a sub vet rider and complete sub vet races before even if it was 2015 last. Based on your reasoning "all taken part in a Vets category race" he can't be the "winner" http://results.racetec.co.za/results_by_person.aspx?PID=50140 The question is. Was the organizing committee fair and unbiased. I do not think so. I'm all for enforcing the rules and keep to it but if unfair is also not right. That's why the so called "pie eating" officials was so pee-offed because of it. If I remember well, decision was made without consultant with CSA as I ask them directly when the "winners" went onto the stage why are these riders on and not the other that won the race
