  1. Will have a look at the training program. But ja looking forward to Sabie, going to be great. Strongs for the week!
  2. You bugga' date=' well done, awesome result, I only managed a 59th position, but 7mins off my best time so thats something I guess.[/quote'] Boet, you beat soemone that has beaten me before - Mark Bridges. Young laaitie. He has beaten me in some of the shorter races so... I have to be honest, my best time before today was 2:57 but that was in September, been training ALOT since then, and today only managed to shave off 7mins. Wasnt too disappointed as the wind/sand slowed me a bit and but after looking at the results most of the people that finished around the same time as me last race, did it much faster this time, also my %position also didnt change much.. Disappointing

  4. I struggled the first lap, spent most of it with the wind in my face and really chowed me, couldnt find a group to ride with, either the guys were gunning it too much or slowly trotting along, found a riding buddy at start of the second lap and went much better.
  5. Hey folks, good race out apart from being shockingly sandy today and quite windy. But was good fun as always! Pics up on pixonsite normally here by Wednesday, results most of the time out the Sunday night but I see SSTiming probably had a busy day, should be out tomorrow morning - http://www.spectrumsport.co.za/index.htm
  6. I dont like you
  7. No riding on Friday or Saturday. I wanna go hard on Sunday to check my fitness level for Sabie... What time you hoping for, also what distance are you doing at Sabie? Just remember to keep some in the tank for the second lap!!
  8. Ag pansy....im kidding, had a suffer fest this morning and think Im downgrading my 100km on Saturday to a easy 50km or something, Sunday I want to be daisy fresh. Next, next time though, the 14 March race im not in the country.
  9. No no, kill yourself every week I'm pushing that overreaching boundary, will good eating and resting in between. Come do Babbas, Ill stick you for a beer as well afterwards...wooohhahaHAHA. But enjoy your Carousel duel-surface race, Im looking forward to Sabie. Sleep now.
  10. I don't have the Sani on my horizon for this year (I might be convinced otherwise for next...) Just busy doing base building-ish things at the mo, but would REALLY REALLY want to go do Babbas ... My Monday will consist of a lot of sitting upright and paying attention Hmm But then, run like crazy person on Friday, take Saturday easy, and gun Sunday again like a gummi bear. O and I dont have Sani on the horizon either... Sabie classic, doing my first real full marathon.
  11. We'll be there too. Puma is doing the 35km and I will be getting my first 70km under the belt. Awesome MJ, maybe I wont snap a chain this time and stay for a beer with you guys, would be awesome!!
  12. Hey who's doing babbas on Sunday?
  13. Started off last year on HT to test things out, and by April was on my Merida duelsus. The 'efficiency' of the HT is overshadowed by the comfort of the duel as the bike absorbes some of the punishment. The effect becomes exaggerated with longer distances, so in my opinion duel sus much more efficient on the body. Go duel, your prostate will thank you!
  14. Well, flu happens Still enjoyed myself, just much more slowly. I think Sabie will be my last 45 after that I am committing to the full marathons too. Awesome buddy, Sabie Im doing long one already, Im going to die. But hold thumbs!! You perhaps not aiming for SabieX end of the year?

You'd be better off strapping pool noodles to your bike.

Me there as well, doing 45km. Prepare to swim!! Whhhooohahaha!
  17. "my last upgrade" hahaha, thats like saying "we'll go to the square, have one beer and come back and study" Nice bike, amazing cleanser, no degreasing issues?
  18. Yip before you know it SLX isnt good enough, he wants XTR!
  19. Bwahahaha!! That is some vintage blackmail material!
  20. Don't do this if you're not fit. I'm not joking. Don't eat before you do this' date=' or prepare a bucket. Don't do them two days in a row -- or even twice in a week. Indoor trainer (because you'll see stars, and not the oncoming car; your legs will be wobbly; and 4mins requires a very long road.) 1min as hard as you can. 1min rest. 2mins as hard as you can. 2min rest. 3mins as hard as you can. 3mins rest 4mins as hard as you can. 4mins rest 4mins again as hard as you can. 4mins rest 3mins as hard as you can. 3mins rest 2mins as hard as you can. 2mins rest. 1min as hard as you can. 1min rest. 4 mins is 240 seconds. Not 239 seconds. 1min rest is 60 secs, not 61 secs. As hard as you can is "puke up a lung"; not "a bit of burn". If you're not up to it, go 3mins. You wanna go harder? OK: 5mins. [/quote'] Thanks but I feel kinda pukey just reading it.
