  1. Yes those sandy corners remain a b!tch. Are you going Sunday? I read your having some issues with your back?

  3. Well done @MJ on the 8th, 23 avg is faakin fast!!
  4. Just a question - when we're talking about prize money, what are we talking about here? The odd R500 or so, or much bigger amounts? Is the price money really a part of a pro cyclist's earnings?
  5. Agree with Hog&Candz on balance, definetly solves the unclipping problem in the long run, and betters the whole ride. You'll end up riding up many hills where other dismount, not due to be being more fit, walking actually nails you, but due to having the balance at slower speeds. In the meatime, try loosening the the pedal a bit but make sure your cleats on your shoes are tight. Should unclip easy. With time and as balance increases you can tighten them.
  6. What ticked me off a couple of times - with those long gentle uphills, you get into a leke rythm and can really pace it up there, and *bam* you hit a patch and completely breaks your momentum. But thats what makes MTBing so different.
  7. Awesome race!! Thanks to organizers for a great day out. The wooden bridges were awesome! Just wondering why they couldnt make a plan at the water crossing down in the valley? Apart from that very nice and rideable race. As mentioned last 10km was faakin tough. But came in 4 minutes quicker than my planned time so yeah! How fun/flipn scary was that looooong fast downhill with the speedhumps??!!! I jumped the first two like a 13year old and yelled 'weeee'. The after like the 10th one I just saw myself eating dirt and calmed down!
  8. Sand at Cullinan almost took me down yesterday. Got a tip from local guru to keep weight back and pressure off the handlbars, allowing your front wheel to 'bob' on the sand rather than dig in. It helps, but takes practice to be effective.
  9. Cleats really help in the long run with pedalling efficiency, anybody riding for a while cant do without them. Had the same problem when I started though, just loosened the cleats a bit to allow my foot the clip out easier and falling stopped. Now that Im used to it i like my cleats a bit tigher, less play and can pull quite hard on them!!
  10. Yes if your sound was out you might have missed Lance's age, but thats the only way.
  11. Hahaha. I'll think about that the next time the add comes on. With all respect to Mr Legstrong, he is awesome, Im a huge fan, just those damn commentators wont shut up about him.
  12. Are you studying this from a neurochemical point of view or purely psycological? IdeJongh2009-07-16 04:31:52
  13. Id tell the hijacker the banker has a lot of cash, tell the banker the hijacker skipped a payment on his bond and let the two sort it out.
  14. Have the 1000D, love the bikes. Congrats, many happy, fun, muddy kilo's on it!
  15. I can see a new market opening up. Revitalift for old ballies - Sean Connery shows up and goes - "Buy our new Q400 revitalift so your wife can stop fantasizing about me...Because she's worth it"
  16. C'mon, could you guys see it when he was portraying a man in James Bond - he ran he ran like an old pommie lady...no one with nuts runs with his legs closed.
  17. I like the line where he says "fighting for the environment" and then gazes (as mentioned - blue steel like) out over the waters from his lake house...fighting can be so tough.
  18. You mean the one at the end where he looks up from the pool table? What a douche. Maybe people confused him for a dude after 007, but he sure convinced us otherwise with this add!!
  19. Yes we get it, Im worth it, I'll go and buy the crap if they can just stop showing him pointing to who knows what on the horse...
  20. Lance is a celeb and not just a cyclist. He may not be the favourite to win the TDF (The hubber poll suggests otherwise), but fact remains he is a remarkable cyclist. I would like to see what these other okes will be doing at his age. Apart from that he represents hope for a lot of people and thats why people will always be fascinated by him. Accept it and move on. Or are you suffering from a little green jersey syndrome....aka jealous cow!! IdeJongh2009-07-10 01:16:07
  21. Yes he was a great artist and performer, but really can the world please move, there is no reason to worship him like this.
  22. Are you willing to split it up...oh wait am I on the right thread?
