OK, I've read this whole thread and this post is just in order to get another post to my name.....

Whatever you go for, you'll have to upgrade your rims to tubeless (XT rims or whatever)....they make life so much easier....2009 Specialized Stumpie Comp goes for R26,000. The stumpie tyres (S-Works, The Captain are already 2-bliss "tubeless". As said before...I love my STUMPIE!!!

My 2009 Stumpie Comp is awsome...love it more than the Scott Genius. The specs are brilliant. I had XT rims and used them. Just convert the DT Swiss X420sl rims with bontrager strips and you go tubeless!!!

Reports states that Absalon's wife said that he was exhausted even before the race started...he stayed in Ausie after Worlds, then went to Malaysia and flew to Switzerland only 2 days before the race, whereas Burry came to SA and then flew up to Switzerland....same time zone....regardless BURRY WON!!! heehaa!!!Gerhardc2009-09-15 05:51:12

I went tubeless earlier in the year....got me some Shimano XT's rims, Stans and Maxxis UST Crossmark tyres.....best investment ever!!!!.....top up every 3 months on Stans and BOB IS INDEED YOUR UNCLE!!!

AGREED, that Stinger-someting protein bar was quite lekka after the race....but still a cool drink (Powerade or Energade) would also have been nice!!

I did not get a water bottle in my goodie bag!!! I WANT A WATER BOTTLE!!! .....my time was 1 minute out....between my POLAR and their system!!

Sometimes I do Ipod when I MTB....because I can!!!....no worries of traffic (TAXIS!!!) behind me, etc......(however not in a race). Then other times the peace and quiet with only my wheels on the dust making their own sounds....
