  1. Thanx to all, very helpful! I really enjoy Woodhill for MTB'ing but when time crunched it does not make sense to ride there by car for 1h and 1h back! (yes I know I can ride there with my bike......but still seems unsafe?)
  2. I know I have asked this before, but except for Woodhill and Riverhead, are there any other MTB tracks worthwhile on the North Shore? I see the one at Albany University is closed down. Alternatively, anyone here with a route they can share going on gravel roads in the dairy flats/Silverdale area? Looking to get some distance in early Saturday morning.
  3. Might be the best motivator you going to get?
  4. 16th will work for me....
  5. So we have a plan then, great, thanx Wayne & Hayley. Starting time in mind?
  6. Scandalous I'll race you for the last place! Will be good to have a nice relaxed ride Wayne. Agreeing on that before the ride will save our ego's when Hayley goes flying past on lap 2.
  7. That sounds like a plan!
  8. So technically I came really close to riding with some actual hubbers in NZ
  9. So I had my first "real" MTB ride today @ Woodhill. All I can say is ...........
  10. Where can I buy Wayne?
  11. Brilliant, even MORE IMPORTANTLY: other people don't know what I don't know, so no need to disappoint them! Guess we should stop before we being told to get our own "single track" already Looking forward to future rides! If I recall, I saw you once at Hakahana (at the door frame drop) and again at Wolwespruit? Was there with Chris Pearton, not sure if it was you though.
  12. Thought I recognised a fellow INTJ! So you will appreciate the following, and it may be applicable to posting online in general..... “You are not entitled to your opinion. You are entitled to your informed opinion. No one is entitled to be ignorant.” Harlan Ellison And before I get 3 pages of comments on the above whimsical statement, please note the following disclaimer: INTJs are able to live by glaring contradictions that nonetheless make perfect sense – at least from a purely rational perspective
  13. I have only been here for 7 weeks, but my experience has been exactly the same as per above! You cover it all (sure we not related ) Maybe because we are in the same line of work and apparently have the same social behaviour issues . Think this page is awesome, but then again, I fall in the "blow smoke up my @$#% because everything here is wonderful" category..............although:
  14. Let me know when you planning to stop by!
  15. No Road bike, unfortunately! I live on the north shore towards Silverdale (Whangaparaoa to be more exact)
  16. Would have been great if I was anywhere near fit enough: Last proper ride was back in SA @ Clarens Ashburton. Let us know when you have something shorter planned. On a side not, does anyone here has a recommendation for a jump coach? My skills are fairly OK, but I cannot jump to save my life......
  17. My only complaints are that I have not really been on my bike, nor have I been on the water.???? Sent from my HUAWEI VNS-L22 using Tapatalk
  18. Might be time to update your list again Wayne?
  19. So somehow I ended up in a company with no cyclists.....any recommendations for riding in North shore area? Sent from my HUAWEI VNS-L22 using Tapatalk
  20. So I finally made to NZ yesterday![emoji4] [emoji4] [emoji4] . Sorry about the weather i brought with guys. My bike will arrive tomorrow with U bag (thanx Wayne for the suggestion). Cant wait to go riding! For the next 8 weeks it will be work and ride to keep my sanity before my wife and kids arrive[emoji22] . Sent from my HUAWEI VNS-L22 using Tapatalk
  21. This weekend is my last on South African soil. Flying out on 27 th and landing the Saturday...work starts the Monday already. Looking forward to meeting you guys! Sent from my HUAWEI VNS-L22 using Tapatalk
  22. Thanx Haley.Container to follow (and wife and kids), but bike NEEDS to come with[emoji4] . I read on other sites not a good idea to load the bike bix until you get to 30 kg, they then tend to abuse the package....they dont like to lift heavy objects. Might then go with Wayne's suggestion of ubag. Hope to be riding with you guys soon. Sent from my HUAWEI VNS-L22 using Tapatalk
  23. Will do thanx. Plan on full service and clean before I bring it over. Any suggestions on the best way to do this?
