  1. Muddy Mike. With regards to the Avianto race, this was the first race that they've have organised. The race actually was at Avianto. That is the sports complex, which is on Avianto Estate. You actually rode on the Avianto grounds. The online entry was slightly confusing. The map was to Avianto, but lots of people were told they couldn't park there as the parking was full. That is why some people had to drive to the other side (I had to), however online it did say that it was at the Sports complex, or something like that. I do agree that they should have had marking too it. The guys at Eagle Canyon Cycles are involved with this whole thing, so I'll mention that too them. The owner of Avianto wants to make this into a safe MTB'ing haven with trails that you can ride whenever you want. He also wants it to be a series with a race every month, so let's try help them improve the race by letting them know all this. I had a few issues with the race, but I let Tim (part of the organizing team) know about it after the race. 1. They should have a water table at the end of the 20km/40km, and halfway on the 40km races. It's not needed, but it'll make the race a bit better. 2. Some of the route markings were a bit vague. Let's look at some of the positives. 1. Value for money was excellent. There was free coffee and cookies etc... before the race. 2. Included in the entry fee was a T-Shirt, a free meal voucher for a Wors Roll, or Burger (Chicken or Beef) after the race. 3. There was no LATE entry fee (although you didn't get the shirt). 4. As you said, a lekker route (with no hold-ups).cyfermaster2010-05-17 06:00:03
  2. Maybe it isn't you that is cursed, but the bike... Looks like the same 1 in the 2 pics... Not sure if it was the same one in the first accident. Maybe not the actual bike, but the brand... Glad to hear that you're okay though.
  3. Will you be getting the other 2X10 groupsets?
  4. Adidas should give all the riders a bafana top.
  5. Lucky you. I'm still waiting for something from Omnico... It's been months, so I've given up on them.
  6. You're meant to show a pic of the injury. Maybe then someone can give you some advice.
  7. i got told that a lot yesterday yeah' date=' they're great kids. conor actually punctured after the ambulance, and we'd already used up his spare tube. i said i'd walk with him to the finish. he burry-ed it to the finish.[/quote'] I actually saw him as I was getting back onto the tar to go to the finish. He still had a smile on his face. Good stuff. If I had a tube I would've given it to him, but I didn't.
  8. Another vote for the MULE!
  9. I'm keen to join every so often too.
  10. Next week Monday.
  11. My friends in A4 didn't complain about congestion, or any hold ups, and they finished with plenty of time to spare. I had none in A2 either.
  12. I forgot what the question was once I saw Tankman's signature.

He sounds like a bit of a wet, so I'm sure that'll make him feel right at home.

  15. Firstly, I hope the lady is okay irrespective of who is to blame. Delgado... We have so many good rugby players in SA, that the Aussie teams take our second rate players to improve their teams.
  16. I agree with the other people... It doesn't get cheaper, because there is always something you want!
  17. I quote the sabie website. If I didn't have a wedding to attend on Saturday I would've been there for the pre-rides. Enjoy it BigBen.
  18. From what I heard at the Epic this year a lot of people were glad that they did away with the pointless long drags on flat roads. Yes that made some of the days riding a little less in terms of km's, and the overall km's were down. It just meant that you were exerting more energy constantly. I agree that a lot has to do with the terrain, and the gradient of the climbs. It might be a bit shorter, with less tota ascent, but I think it will still be quite Epic.
  19. Um... as far as I can remember from everything I've read, they did the route twice. Once on the a road bike, and once on a mtb bike and as per Andy, they dominated their respective disciplines...
  20. Yeah - that's why Bill Gates says he wants Windows to be like a drug - easy to get onto' date=' but impossible to get off. It can quite frustrating (and was very frustrating then), but now I tear out my hair everytime I have to use a Windows box. There's NO apps with it (Linux gives you office suites, games, programming tools, frikkin' EVERYTHING out of the box). I look at a Windows box and wonder what the hell I can do with it. The frustration is that some software will ONLY run under Windows (my Garmin stuff, for example). It's frustrating keeping a Windows box alive purely to get my GPS software updated! I can download from the Garmin to Linux, but not do the software updates.... [/quote'] Run it as a VM on your linux box.
  21. According to the results for Stage 1. 22T37VetBoet & Swaer09:47:561Bill Van Den Berg - Koos Du Plessis How do you pick that up' date='I cant see the number. I wonder if its Boet or Swaer We have a team from Gabs..Double Diesel And the ex is doing it as well in Spies[/quote'] If you click on the image it loads the full picture and you can see the number 37-2 next to his right leg.

  23. What about having 100 late entries or whatever amount, but make sure you cater for them?
  24. i think there's more than enough yellow in that pic already! 24995 posts? it feels like i have only been gone a day... you sure are racking up the post count... eek' date=' i'd better slow down...i'm retiring after #25000 [/quote'] I think that when you get to 25000 they should make a post come off your count each time you post, and see how long it takes you to get back to 0.
