I ride with the normal egg beaters as well, and have done so for 5 years now I think. I haven't had any problems with them, and haven't done any maintenance on them either. I've just recently replaced the cleats though. I think the cleats on the SPD's last longer. That said, I have a friend who used the Candy's and he had a few problems with them. He has since moved to normal Egg Beaters, and had no problems with them. My brother uses the SPD's and he hasn't had problems with them. I reckon you should see if you can try a set of each out, and get the ones you are most comfortable with, especially if you are going to ride a lot.

I have never had the Look pedals. I have Egg Beaters. I think it was Mampara and Tridude that had them.

Did some browsing and found this: XT pedals weght: 354.0g (I assume this is per pair) Your Egg Beaters weight: 294g per pair. That's 30g per pedal, so I don't think it will make a noticeable difference.

You can uninstall IE7 and 8. IE 6 you can't... There is most likely a way, but it's not through add/remove programs...

I used to use FireFox exclusively, now I only use google chrome. No issues.
