  1. check on the PCS website under documents, they have a spreadsheet of the riders and how many points they have
  2. hahahaha........ only noticed the date now......wow, 2006
  3. I think your mental state is the deciding factor. If you believe you can be a world class cyclist, AND putt in the effort towards your goal then you will achieve it. Physical factors will determine your strong/weak points on different terrain. A person with natural talent may get there quicker, but I think the guy thats focused and mentally strong will be just as good or even better in the end. Its all in the mind
  4. Nice fast race, knew it was going to be difficult racing with this head cold of mine, but happy that I was in good enough shape to take part.
  5. There seems to be alot of upset around the seeding system. I only started racing this year, completed 4 races so far, started in W in all of them, moved up to I this week. It seems you need to ride away from you starting group to improve your seeding. Its hard work without the benefit of the draft of a group. The real challange starts now, chasing faster groups now. Maybe Ill be complaining here aswell in the near future.
  6. PPA updated today, yes! after 4 races starting in W I've been moved up to I. Happy!
  7. Those serfas seca tires are good in my opinion, just bought a set yesterday @ CWC. Stay away from Specialized all condition tires.......got a puncture at least every day, if it wasn't for my specialized airlock tubes I would have been in an institution of some kind by now
  8. went well, started in W and came in with K/L I think. 77km@ 2h24m
  9. I use GU energy gels during racing, but its getting expensive @ R20p/gel. I would rather like to buy a 1kg tub of something that works just as well. Not very clued up on supplements out there. Basicly I want to know, do you get a powder base that you can mix into your water bottle that has the same instant affect that gels have, without needing to drink like 500ml to get affect.
  10. I use a soft sponge/brush and washing powder dedtergent in a bucket of water. Then rinse all the soap of afterwards and let dry.
  11. My bad, new to the cape, didnt know there is a pump station at the clarence climb, many people refer to a feul station as a pump station and that is why I assumed it is the climb behind the BP gerage and thats why I said I have nothing to worry about. Never the less I did apologise in my earlier post, because I can understand how he may have felt insulted, it was a poor choice of words.
  12. sorry, bike going in for major service.
  13. I appologise if the post affended u, didnt meen it in a nasty way, I found it humorous when I saw that hellave climb... thought to myself ' Ahh well, here goes nothing' the second time round was a real challange.
  14. excellent race! loved it, the guy who said the worst climb is like the filling station climb in gordons bay is a real clown! MET KAAPSE WEG FOR THE FIRST TIME! 88km route @ 2h49, started in W
  15. Rode the boland drukpers, going to do the same thing i did then. Go hard and see how far i can get, with boland drukpers i started in W and ended with L. Ill eventually get on top of the seeding ladder.
  16. Ill be glad if the bunches are small like with the engen dynamic, started with the pro teams even though I had no seeding yet, was my first race.
  17. forecast looks better. The last couple of weeks have me fed up with the wind, Im light so its a strugle to stay on the bike... plus Ill probably be riding alone again like with the Boland race... last time Ill be starting in W!
  18. weather forecast for constantia/houtbaai on Sunday says SE winds of 35-41 km/h !
  19. LOL... Sitting on the toptube wouldnt do any harm. Felt reluctant the first time when I got my bike cause it feels like plastic, but really, I wouldnt worry about it
  20. I'm entered. Hows the wind there this time of the year? Lately the wind is real bad in Gordons Bay
  21. Cool, if thats the worst then i dont have much to worry about
  22. anyone here doing this one? Hows the climbs? I'm used to training the whale coast route from Gordons bay up Clarence to Rooi Els.
  23. Here is an article about Pre-race warm up, but I use it every day. It explains why to warm up and how. Pre-race warm-up schedule 5 minutes endurance pace, 90 to 110rpm 1 minute FastPedal (very low resistance, cadence as high as possible without bouncing in the saddle) 1 minute easy pedalling at moderate cadence 5 minutes SteadyState, 90 to 100rpm (86 to 90% of max sustainable power, 92 to 94% of max sustainable heart rate, or an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10 in terms of effort) 2 minutes easy pedalling 1 minute max effort, 90rpm or more 1 minute easy pedalling 1 minute max effort, 90rpm or more 2 minutes easy pedalling
  24. one thing about the roads here are that they are very clean, explaining why i only took one tube and bomb, this is like my first flat in 7 months, maybe i should go get my mini pump out of the closet though...
