  1. So hubbers, here is the poll, let's check this out!!
  2. You can all say what you want, fact is cyclists are getting screwed, full stop but especially in comparison to runners. For some reason when anyone sees a cyclist they see dollars.
  3. He-he, this is a photo my wife MUST see... She can then realize how lucky she still is!
  4. he-he, you should know better! Get a training program and update it with actuals against plan on a daily or weekly basis. You mate, life-partner, boss or personal trainer should monitor your progress... Preferably someone you sh*t scared of!! Maybe you would like to be out into place nice incentives if you complete a week's program i.e. Week 1 - Get a new bike Week 2 - Get a new bike... Week 16 - Get a new partner
  5. Enter for a race... Maybe Knysna, Road, MTB or both... It will get you into training and there is a good 17odd weeks left before race day.
  6. Hectic!! Great pics, thanks for sharing...
  7. Mmmmmmmmm I am looking at a set of racing wheels for my roadbike and the local price that I have been quoted is double the imported price. R7683 versus R15000! Guess what I will do...
  8. This sounds cool, please let me have the details... I will be there, with some of my friends!
  9. The wind is your friend, it makes you strong... AAaahhrrrr!!
  10. Thanks hubbers, some good feedback here... The end result is that I need to drop it slightly and see how it goes then. Yours in Cycling!!
  11. Wow, glad to you are OK dude... These buses have a number on the back that you can use to trace them. Usually it is much shorter and easier to remeber than the registration number. I have used it very succesfully to trace a driver before that tried to push me of the road. Golden Arrow were great in the support they gave me when I gave them the number and the time.
  12. Mmmmmm - Thanks, the slipping and sliding is what happened today and the track was very sandy and loose. Again rider A130 suggested that I am riding on to much tyre pressure...
  13. Currently I am on Kenda Nevada's on my MTB. Tubeless... I need to know the correct pressure to ride these on in sandy, rocky and wet conditions. Do I have the back and front on the same pressure or will the back always be harder than the front? I weight plus/minus 74kgs on a good week Currently I am on 2.5 bar on the front and 3.0 bar on the back.
  14. Now we getting there, but we are not cooking yet...
  15. Come on Hubbers, we must have more good stories to share than bad...
  16. ?There is little difference in people, but That little difference makes a big difference. The little difference is attitude. The big difference is whether it is Positive or Negative.?
  17. It so easy to Rant & Rave, but let's also share some good stories... <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Yesterday afternoon on my way home cycling from CPT at the Dolphin Beach turn-off where motorists usually just shoot left without taking an care of a cyclists that might want to go straight, a chap in a bakkie (small white Bantam or Mazda) nearly dislocate his neck to see where I was and if he has allowed enough space for himself to ensure my safety! Great attitude Dude and much appreciated!!
  18. If you look at the photos, not to far... He seems to be OK. Man was these guys lucky or what (Biker & Cyclists)? Anyone know what happened to the motorist, this time also the innocent party! <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Gives new meaning to when you time is not up, it is not up!
  19. Man, am I glad to hear you guys are OK!!!!
  20. Just heard of an accident at 12 apostels, Cape Town this morning. It seems like a car, motorbike and cyclist were involved. Anyone have news on this?
  21. Man it just stinks... Maybe we should take up running, they tend to look beter after their participants
  22. We need a little bit of an attitude adjustment - all of us! And then I would strongly recommend:- An awareness campaign to start with bus-drivers and truck drivers where a cyclist actually chat to a group of these drivers and show them the risks that they take when they get to close to a cyclist and how they can screw up their lives and that of the cyclists and his/her family... Then do the same with taxi drivers... Then start to use both busses and taxis to advertise safe cycling on. A small start, but something that can be managed and that will start to make a difference. You know the saying, eat an elephant bit, by bit. I am certainly willing to get involved, are you?
  23. Mmmmmmmmmm... <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> The responses will be followed with interest. I also use Kenda Nevegal, found them to be very good in keeping traction and getting rid of mud, but they are heavy and slow when the going gets easier. Not so much a problem with them lasting though, my rear tyre has worn very quickly, but that is because of tar riding (My MTB is also used for commuting to work in back, easier to get out of the why of the less than average motorist...) Looking to change, but not to sure what will be the best change...
  24. Oh Boy, let's be safe out there!!!
