  1. How nice would have been to rather see this topic:- "PPA demands swift and decisive action from City of Cape Town after horrific attacks on cyclists on bike path in the area of the Woodstock bridge!" Now we just get warned off.
  2. Fix and continue to maintain the fence, secure the fence in and around the Woodstock bridge (this by itself is a mess), remove the campers from the area, remove/clear all big bushes/shrubs etc. In other words, look after your billion rand investment and do not let it go down the drain because of a lack of effort. How difficult can this be?
  3. Poor show from the city, PPA and everyone involved in this development, the maintenance there-off and safety of citizens using the facility. Let your head hang in shame. This city works for who...?
  4. Awesome - where can I then buy this - also want one of those bands, but not purple, that will clash with my bike and my kit. Maybe red, white or black - In fact I will take one of each.
  5. Anyone have an idea what is happening at SARS. Apparently there is a stop payment on all eFiling payments. My wife has been called to SARS now for 4 times just to submit the same documents. Today she was told to come back again for a 5th time, now they want her original IRP5, not the one loaded onto eFiling. On every visit they have taken all her documents, said it was all good, they have been scanned in, supervisor pops over and signs it off, just to be called back two weeks later for something else. And this they refuse to explain to you on the phone - the message is always, you have to come in and bring the same documents... According to the SARS staff a block was placed on making any more pay outs by the computer (Wtf?). My wife's income and tax is a straight forward simple one with no complexities. This used to be a department that ran without any hiccups. What happened?
  6. Emailed received - now, do I commit or not?
  7. Flu got me good and solid, so I am out - not sure if I should be happy or sad, that is looking at all the rain still to fall in the area.
  8. Loads of rain predicted for this week - how well do these trails dry out, or handle the rain. Or does this promise to be a mud fest galore...
  9. In what world are you living - LOL (Probably also chasing Pokémons)
  10. I do not like this at all. If a rider leaves a tour, any tour for that matter, just because, he should lose all record of the tour in question, including any wins against his name, or his team's name. Lost respect... Not cool.
  11. Garmin confirms in SA by end of August only, 6 weeks to wait - eish!
  12. Yip, this is also on my "must have" list (Eish, such a long list already!). Not available yet locally it seems, looked for one today. When can we expect it in the shops? Kannie meer wag nie meneer!
  13. Cannot wait for Shimano to go 1 x 12. On the Di2, it is a simple software upgrade with new cluster and chain. Bring it on, apparently soon, soon...
  14. So, I am not getting that contract after all - wtf Eish, broken...
  15. One find the weirdest people on the bike path, and yes many of them sleep walk on the early morning commutes. Much like we use to do in the old army days. Stand and sleep, these guys have just bettered it by now walking without knowing, hearing or seeing. But you must be nice, think about their commute, when did they have to get up to be on time for work, hassle with unreliable transport, bosses without a clue etc. etc. And most importantly, if you rude, the next cyclist will get the brunt of your self-centeredness. If you nice, wake them up carefully, say good morning and wave going past, maybe the next cyclist will get a good old African hello and smile... I have seen some commuters being so rude, if it was me on the other side... eish. Not good man, you make it bad for the other cyclists - think of them dude...
  16. Also did The Commute this morning from Blouberg way, like every morning... It seems winter is back, but the coffee at Vida always is a lifesaver! Riding your bike everyday make you cooler than hulle
  17. Good luck in using the chain breaker - personally I do not like, it is cumbersome and not easy/simple to use. You must have time on your hand i.e. doing a leisurely cruise for it to come in handy, and also be born with a serious dose of patience... Had it, sold it... And the Sahmurai - have to laugh - this is crap. Also had one, you cannot load it with the big black plugs, and if you force it, it just breaks apart. Had to help many a riders on the trials who had this and could not fix their tyre. Also remember, if you crash you handlebar is usually the one thing that hits the ground hard, so be prepared to lose it, or have it wrecked. Some I heard just fell out... I guess, all I am saying is, work with it at home, understand how bad it is, and the real risk to lose or have it smashed after a crash, before you hit the trails. Unfortunately I am born a gimmick nut, so I always get burned by the not so good gimmicks. And no I do not learn...
  18. Now if only they can also secure the cycle-path through Woodstock. Fence has been broken down/damaged in so many spots, they can take it down. I have tweeted everyone including Helen & kie and even some of their friends. The response has been unresponsive or so poor, not committing etc. that I just gave up. Will use the tweets and responses in my legal case against the city when I get mugged on that part of the route...
  19. GrantRH - couple of things, was running 1x11 already, and very happy with it, have an Epic WC (so no place for the front derailleur), weight (LOL) and simplicity.
  20. I am running the Di2 on a 1x 11 and must say, totally stoked so-far. Definitely one of the best investments I have made into my cycling equipment and my MTBike machine.
  21. Best to check in with him... If he can make the 15mm, sure he can also do the 20mm...
  22. These are now available locally, in our own Cape Town, at awesome prices being made by a local engineer! I just bought 5 for my stand - 1st ones of the production line... R400.00 TBR Engineering - 021 553 3228
  23. If you come racing past me like a twat and try to drop me - you can't... and I WILL sit behind you until your legs fall off before I pass you and then leave you behind. (You will recognize me as the guy with the big smile behind you! ) Or we can ride together and share the work, but if you want to be the one who dropped everyone on the commute today, think again.
