  1. Mmmmmmmmmm I am not to sure here, glad to see I am not the only one that thinks this is a poor program! If I have a choice, I would probably say, drop the program, or at least all the presenters, that will already go a long way in improving it... Even a 2 hour program once a month could be better than watching the bull they try to dish up every week.
  2. Yip idrive I agree... They have lost me as a customer... Looks like I will be trying cytomax. Thanks hubbers for all the great feedback and info!
  3. What gel are you using?
  4. Does Cyto Max also have a gel? I note that PowerBar does have one... I like to use the same product for a drink and a gel. I believe they do support each other better. Does that make sense?
  5. So I have been using Energy Dynamics now for some years, but it is getting increasingly more and more difficult to get the product. So it looks like it is time to change... Rule number 1 for any company - ensure your products are easily available, and look after your existing customer base... Oops!? Anyone have some good ideas and/or recommendations. I have been looking at Biogen, more specifically their Cytogen product.
  6. A motorist bit off part of a cyclist's ear in New Castle, Indiana, according to an online newspaper report. The 31-year-old rider told police he shouted at an SUV driver that was speeding on a residential street. The driver pulled over, got out, knocked the rider down and began gnawing his ear, spitting out the pieces. The police chief says "a good chunk" of the rider's left ear is missing. The driver was jailed.<?: PREFIX = O />
  7. Rest and watch your heart rate... If you know your heart rate well you will be able to immediately see a diffrence when overtrained, either by watching and monitoring your resting heart rate or your ability to get it up high and the time it takes to settle again...
  8. Ah sheeeet, wish I was there!!! When will we be able to see it on TV. I cannot believe it was not "live"!!! Or did I miss it?
  9. When will this event be shown on TV, or have I missed it already?
  10. I dont organise anything but Mayhem.. I just Forgot to put Inverted commas. I was actually quoting someone there. haha gg pfff... Im having a sh*te day at work today' date=' I dont feel like fighting. Im going to let you off with a warning Anyway. I will see you guys down In CX for the Race when that time comes. Mabe I wil throw my "offdays" in then and we can ride some sweet trails. Would dig to show you the "not so regular routes". Bos out...[/quote'] Hey Boss man, it will be great if you can show me some of the routes... I will be there for the entire week after the cycling events. So let's plan to hook up!!
  11. Mmmmmmmmm - Whatever!! You seem to be one of the "nice" organisers MoonMan2009-04-07 06:03:03
  12. Hey dirt*girl, I have also entered the MTB event and will be staying the entire week as my wife is doing the 21km marathon... I am not so much bitching about the R185 as much as the assumption by organizers that cyclists should pay more and get less than our running mates. With events as well, if not better, organized as the cycling events. Yeah, yeah, I know you are probably thinking... Why don't I then take up running, but this is not the point here. In fact if the entry fees were reasonable I would have also entered the road bike, after all I am there...
  13. Yip "muddy p", unfortunately they will just not care, for every cyclists not turning up there is another one willing to pay these prices. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> This has been on "the hub" many times before, with many of our friendly hubbers having great reasons for these high entry fees for cycle races, be that MTB or Road Bike. We have done this to ourselves, by keeping quiet and just pay whatever gets asked... Maybe organizing a running event is cheaper, but is it more than 100% cheaper. I doubt that! Did you see the goodie bag given to the Spar Ladies entrants? (Must be 5 times the value of the entry fee and then add the free T-shirt) Compare that we what was given at the Argus road bike event, what a embarrassment. (It was just a bag full of advertising, imagine what the advertisers must pay for this privilege!!) They should rather drop it completely, like they have done with the Argus MTB event. No goodie bag, increased fees... Way to go!! Let's screw the cyclist a little bit more!!
  14. For crying out load, I have now for two evenings tried to register for the MTB and Road bike, but this website keeps on throwing me out. One would have thought that with the amount cyclists must pay for these events and then pay an administration fee (!) they can get it right? <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> R185 for the MTB long route and R175 for the Road bike long route with a R10 discount for the half routes, then you must still pay an admin fee. Ridiculous, if you ask me. The running events are an R100 less per event!!! Make you think, are cyclists just cash cows?!
  15. You can actually buy the hook with a plastic coating on it. And yes builders warehouse sells them. I have bikes hanging in my garage on these hooks, I hang then upside down from the roof hooked on the front wheel and back wheel and then some against the wall hooked on the front wheel with the back wheel resting against the wall. These hooks are very well priced, especially if you have to hang a couple of bikes. It seems to work well for me. Did try to get my MTB and RB with me in our main bedroom, but this did not go down to well with the wife...
  16. So hubbers, here is the poll, let's check this out!!
  17. You can all say what you want, fact is cyclists are getting screwed, full stop but especially in comparison to runners. For some reason when anyone sees a cyclist they see dollars.
  18. He-he, this is a photo my wife MUST see... She can then realize how lucky she still is!
  19. he-he, you should know better! Get a training program and update it with actuals against plan on a daily or weekly basis. You mate, life-partner, boss or personal trainer should monitor your progress... Preferably someone you sh*t scared of!! Maybe you would like to be out into place nice incentives if you complete a week's program i.e. Week 1 - Get a new bike Week 2 - Get a new bike... Week 16 - Get a new partner
  20. Enter for a race... Maybe Knysna, Road, MTB or both... It will get you into training and there is a good 17odd weeks left before race day.
  21. Hectic!! Great pics, thanks for sharing...
