  1. They say the route will be run in reverse this year, surely starting the downhill to Bryanston drive will cause more congestion and bottlenecks than last year? Doesn't an early climb separate the field a bit? just a thought or am I missing something?

    Cricket......

A article written by Martin Crowe to AB... an interesting read. Dear AB, You might have picked up that pre-tournament my head predicted you boys to win this baby, while my heart, naturally, is dressed in black. Don't be sad, AB. So far you've dropped a few backers, looked pretty ordinary at times, but I'm holding fast. And if I had a quiet moment with you, then this is what I would offer, for what it's worth. Firstly, and most important of all, any success of the highest order is down to bold, courageous leadership. You guys should know; you had one of the best of all time - Nelson Mandela. So my first little tip is to acknowledge that bold leadership is your domain. This is your time to march them out, take them home. The skipper in black has already assumed that role and is mounting an assault, just as Edmund Hillary did. On your side, if I were you, AB, I'd reach out and feel the presence of Madiba. Next, your key role is to find each person's button and press it firmly. Look them in the eye and implore that they reveal their individual expression to fit perfectly within the team endeavour. Press the button: it's green (with a yellow stripe). Let me start with the critical aspect of leadership - tactics. Your bowling attack needs tweaking, so open your mind to a few ideas and see if AD agrees. One of the roles you have to get right is the fourth seamer. Wayne Parnell is your man. Trouble is, he is a rogue and can go walkabout, but he's likeable and eager, and if his button is correctly pushed, he will be a massive positive for the rocky road ahead. So open with him, giving him a chance to swing the ball, to feel important. Remove his fear, free him to be the best he can be. Rest Vernon for ten days, freshen him up for the last four games of the Cup. But empower Wayne to be the man he can be, steer him down the path of fulfilment. He can bat at eight with purpose. His button is your main priority. Get Dale to relax, get rid of the stunned mullet look, get him looser. His wrist-snap is missing, the venom of old lacking. His body looks tight, with the will spilling over, over-stretched, so give him a list of different roles for a few games: open one day, bowl from middle to death on another. Get him challenged on different fronts to keep him fresh, not thinking too much, just lots of doing and being the class act he is. Same with Morne. Change when and where he bowls from one game to another. These guys are experienced, they need to enjoy the game for a period, get the right juices flowing. Let them have turns opening with Wayne, trying a combo or two to scene-set by attacking with vigour. Oh, I love Imran. What a big heart. If only you had 11 of him. He has been through so much and still keeps fighting on. He's your go-to guy, your banker, so be grateful he is in fluent form. JP has to drop this flat rubbish he's bowling. Get him back to flighting the ball sweetly, dipping to create bounce, as he can. Tell him to take wickets, to attack, to be flamboyant. Inspire him. Hey, and when it feels right, bowl an over yourself. Get that smile back on your face. Roll the dice: six balls, one wicket. No one will dare to get out to your slow straight dobblies. Nothing to lose for an over, and if you play Rilee at seven for a game as you rest Vernon, then you become the sixth bowler. You have the attack, now you need to manipulate it better. Hashim is your right-hand man, a beautifully strong, resilient player, so don't be afraid to ask him to carry more of the load. Tell him to take his time, anchor and secure the innings. He must bat through in his well-grooved tempo, not in this frenetic mood he seems to be in at present. Tell young Quinton to clear the mind a little, not premeditate so much, as it roots the feet to the spot. Tell him to breathe deep and let the feet find fluency, then the hitting and timing will return. He's a critical cog in the wheel. Breathe and believe. I'm worried about Faf, your long-time sparring partner. He's got the weight of the world on his shoulders, plus a small chip that needs removing. You are the one that needs to pull it out, as I sense it's there because you have left him so far behind over this decade. Encourage him to drop the burden he appears to be carrying, let him know that he can have some of your runs this tournament. That you can bat side by side, brothers in arms. You need him to be free. Have a shave, AB, you look ragged and rattled. Smarten up. A touch of polish is required. Since that 31-ball ton, you have got a bit sloppy. You need to be all things in all situations. You need to lead like never before. Take a leap of faith. Feel Mandela in your bones. It's you and you only who can push the buttons of your comrades. Black buttons are being pushed over the ditch, and you need to match it. Four matches left in the round robin, so try a few subtle changes and freshen up the senior men and empower some key young talents. Chill, mate. Whistle a tune as you start pressing buttons. It's all good. Plenty of time to pick up the pace. But I wouldn't waste another moment, eh. Respect, A big fan
  3. You took some great pics over the holidays, love the longer exposures. Landscapes are definitely not my strong point so always admire it when someone gets it right
  4. Lightroom is just more photographic specific, where Photoshop has introduced a lot of photographic features. If you're a photoshop guru you can definitely get the same results if not better.
  5. Heres another example of luck with colors...
  6. I've also got Lightroom. There is another product called Bibble which is quite good.
  7. Great pic, awesome colors - what post processing are you using?
  8. I agree, outside of a studio, the luck of a stumbling across a scene has everything to do with it, then a bit of camera knowledge, hold the shutter down and hope it comes out like you imagined it would.... edit: oh and some decent equipment never hurts...
  9. Great comp, the lines of color work really well.
  10. Thanks, I did, but it was more like fill an SD card to get one image that works, sometimes you just get lucky.
  11. Thanks Wyatt, lets see if it works... One of my older ones but a fav in the Kruger
  12. Awesome thread, I'd love to share some pics, but I have no clue how to upload....I have done a search, but no luck, so if anyone could point me in the right direction i'd appreciate
  13. The Driver in #6 having a chuckle is hilarious!!!
  14. Why pull the backing at this late stage, when you have put so much in? there has to be quite a serious reason for it...would love to have been a fly on the wall.
  15. Looking forward to the response to this from ....Mr. Griffin I presume???
  16. What a monumental f-up!!! was really excited to watch this one from the sidelines. NOW I would really love to know: how they going to deal with this? what happened to all the claims 'this is definitely going to happen' ? the lawyers letter sent out saying the prize money was already in trust ? That was a piss poor attempt at a press release imo... who pulled out? Name and shame. I actually feel really sorry for Mr. Harris... can't be nice situation to be in with all the hype. Hope he has a serious PR team in place for this one...
  17. None that I have heard of for quite a while...touch wood!!!
  18. Yes on 2 of 3 counts... however i'm not sure what doping, cycling and religion have to do with one another ? But some people on here are vehemently against cheating in Sport, as they should be and includes myself. If LA ever invited me out for a drink I'd be happy to go, I think he is an amazing athlete, but unfortunately he got caught, so therefore deserved to get banned, as does every other cheat. However this does not mean there is a lack of compassion and people haven't forgiven him and or cast him out into social exile, it just means he can't participate in sport - which is a pretty fair assessment...my 2c of course
  19. Would the CA not be banned for life?...just saying. Maybe get the Accountancy board or whatever they are called to take over from SAIDS?
  20. I did read the reply and from the bit i did make sense of it's very much SAIDS passing the buck and saying they can only comment on specific ingredients and not product itself. What I'm saying is...because of SAIDS' lack of committal for a want of a better word the responsibility should and does lie with the athlete to make sure, if not expect the punishment if you transgress. Now, as much as I like to think I'm a professional mountain biker, I'm just not, so if for some reason I get tested at an event, however unlikely that may be, and i have a banned substance in me and get banned...then so be it, i doubt my name would be tarnished other than my riding mates having a laugh and nicknaming me EPO, I really couldn't be bothered to read the 'banned' list even with my CSA license. But if it were my livelihood, hmmm i would make DAMN sure... I do get exactly what you're saying and completely agree with you, but i think its a bit like riding into a gale force head wind...you're not going to get anywhere.
  21. Gees surely as a professional athlete the responsibility lies firmly and squarely on you and what you chose to ingest. For the most part SAIDS is providing athletes with assistance and saying: Right guys and gals, here's an up-to-date list of what you can and cannot take...if you are a bit confused send us the list of ingredients and we will check it out for you. Unfortunately SAIDS has come under massive attack for whatever the reasons may be and are not able to put their heads on a block, and unfortunately there is a massive Grey area because of this, but in my opinion you can't be half pregnant...you either are or you're not. Now as the professional athlete, and if my balls were on the line, I would make 100% sure about everything I ingested and if I wasn't 100% I would throw it in the bin, I would pay a nutritionist to then double check just to make sure... As for the DG saga, I honestly believe and it sounds like they had a pre-arrangement, in other words - Dave, walk away quietly, we'll reduce the sentence and offer the only plausible reason.
  22. Awesome stuff!!! really looking forward to this initiative and the race...
  23. Prepsol can't cause the problem at all, so I think checking the tape and re-seating should do the trick. Only problem I've experienced with Prepsol is holding my Karcher too close and getting it into bearings...
  24. Umm... it's a protected brand, if it's not illegal then it certainly is a civil matter that 'Craig' with phone number could be in the dwang, if of course Spez take it further... but my understanding is...ILLEGAL
