  1. Had it done with Alligator fittings which all shops should have.Works like a dream.
  2. There is one better. It does not affect the paint or anything else and it is bio-degradeable.Builders Warehouse sells it as Pink Stuff(it is pink) and Chaimberlains sells it as BH-38.Seems that there are a lot of MTBikers out there that needs this.....
  3. ? The hoses themselves have different external and internal diameters to you normal hoses' date=' they've done away with the olives as well.[/quote'] Ok!Now give me the good news.Where do I find the Goodridge fittings.Apart from CRC as they dont specify the fittings properly.I am sure someone in SA can help....
  4. That would be great.Could you do it from the bottom up?Please
  5. Thats not good news.I was hoping to be able to use Avid or XTR fittings. Why do these fittings not work properly?
  6. Waiting for JB to get online.....
  7. Shall we get into a discussion about Pink Floyd' date='the best there ever was and will be [img']https://assets.bikehub.co.za/legacy_images/smilies/smiley4.gif[/img]
  8. Thanks Johan.Just to confirm then, as long as the bearings are the correct size meaning 1-1/8" or am I missing something and then you put in spacers on the top bearing untill there is no play.
  9. Has anyone fitted goodridge hoses on Juicy Ultimate brakes.I have the hoses but dont know if the standard Avid fittings will work.
  10. The stack height is the distance from the bottom of the headset to the top, without cups. The SWORKS takes an internal headset and therefore no cups! What I need is for someone to tell me that for instance a Cane Creek S1 will fit without problems.
  11. What size headset will work with my 2007 SWORKS carbon HT?I know that it should be a 1-1/8" but that is only the diameter. What about the stack height?
  12. Buy from Evanscycles, anything over 50 pounds is shipped free.My package was delivered to my door with no extra charge.Maybe I was lucky
  13. ? Listen to your piers' date=' MTB is king. And it's alot safer.[/quote'] ? I beg to differ. One suffers many many more falls in MTB than road. I tried MTB and fell 4 times in my first race and 2 in my second - none of them were my own fault ? On the road I have only had 1 fall in 2,5 years!!! ? Last year on a training ride on a MTB, I went over the handlebars and broke both hands and wore a neck brace for 3 months. ? Since then I have heard so many horrific MTB stories. ? Folks - MTB is DANGEROUS!! Stick to the road. ? Nonsense! Mtb is more technical due to the terrain. You need to train/ride accordingly and understand where your limits are.I see a lot of cyclists that have a dont care approach to a down hill section and they inevitably end up on the groud.
  14. ? so tell me underachiever' date=' with these impressive numbers, and seeing this is a lube thread, ? What lube do you use to get to these figures ???[/quote'] ? Squirt Dry Lube.? ? I never remove my chain?on my roadbike during its life to be cleaned, etc., I just re-lube when necessary.? If the chain is really dusty, I will?just hose it off with water (and then re-lube). Cleans the cassette sprockets probably once per year with a degreaser if I feel like it. ? For MTB:? Cleans the chain and cassette with a water hose every two weeks or so to get rid of the dust and re-lube.??Since its a dry lube I will hose off the chain/cassette after a?rainy ride and re-lube. Your chain, casette and chainrings must look k*k.I wash my MTB mechanicals after every ride. But that's why my BB does not last......
  15. I have bar ends,stem(108gr!!!)and bars.No problem whatsoever and have been using them for about two years
  16. Agreed that you do not need to deflate for your flight.Bombs work well, but tend to mess up the Stan's or what ever sealant you have.A very clever little device that you could probably pick up at any LBS is made by Mavic. It converts the thin valve(i can never remember if it is shrader or the other one )so that you can easily use the pump at your local filling station.
  17. I ordered a set of ADvantage tyres from Bluesky cycling about 3 years ago. They were not available in SA yet. They are very grippy, but do not roll fast enough for XC riding.Conti MT Kings are great but do wear fast.BTW I think that Maxxis Crossmarks are the worst ever.
  18. All of the above, except removing your seatpost!!!Try some chamois cream.
  19. Ver sharp and very funny Racman!!!!!!!!specialized72009-03-06 01:45:38
  20. I agree with building a relationship. It does work.Problem is when the person that you were dealing with decides to b..... off!
  21. They are in Pretoria.
  22. It is extremely easy to order stuff from any of the great sites on the net.Prices are very competitive even with the current excahnge rate.Just reckon some of them should up their game.
  23. Why do bicycle shops give such bad service! It's not as if they can survive without the business.I constantly battle to get stuff ordered or get my bike repaired properly.People that I train with have the same problems.I won't mention the shop names....
  24. Did you know that all eggbeaters come with shims. They also double up as protection against the wear of your soles!!
