  1. Tried at the office and at home? Maybe I must try from another PC...
  2. No issue on the Garmin Connect site until I select the 'update' function. That doesn't seem to work. Did you upload any files while you played around?
  3. Is anybody else having an issue currently to upload files on Garmin Connect? When I click upload it tells me the site is down for maintenance. Strange, I've had that for days now?
  4. For the past couple of days I've been unable to upload my files from my Edge 500 to the Garmin Connect website. When 'n click on the "Update" button on the top (while the device is connected to the PC obviously) it gives an error screen that the website is down for maintenance? Surely this can't be correct - it's given that error for days now?? Has anyone else had this problem or is there an issue on my side??
  5. Hi I need to fit my 29er on a trailer rack to bring back from Knysna to Pretoria. Problem is the rack is made for normal quick release. Where in the Knysna area can I find an adapter to make the wheel fit to quick release? The bike shops in Kysna can't help and I need it by 2 January... Anybody in the area that can help out?
  6. Did you go from 26" soft tail to 29" hard tail or is the 29" soft tail?

Still no email / sms?? Am I the only one? Thanks Eddie13, per you link I see I am VB @ 5:45. Wonder if they have sent those confirmations already... Any other VB guys that got an sms/email?
  8. Cannot comment on MTB tandem - I cannot see me being that brave. However on road tandem - yes I can recommend the tandem "other" dynamics! It was my idea to get a tandem as my impatience to wait for my wife while we were on individual bikes was not good. I thought I might as well get a proper workout while pedalling a tandem for us both rather than to stand and wait next to the road waiting for her to catch up. Well long story short we became such a team when we started racing. It was great fun to train together and race. Gave a new dynamic to cycling (I've been cycling couple of years when we started the tandem). Honestly after a tuff ride to talk about it was great because both shared the same experience. Go on try it.
  9. I have Shimano R300 heat moulded shoes for road. They are very light and fits well. I love them. (Being a lightweight shoe for racing it doesn't have the best soles for walking compared to some other road shoes if that is of interest) I am on my second set of Shimano MTB shoes. They are very very durable and strong. No buckles ever broke. Even when pushing the bike over rocks and rough terrain. My feet are on the wider side and I find the shimano shoes fit comfortably.
  10. Yes it needs one. My experience of Johnsons = a complete rip off!
  11. Also looking for an entry P L E A S E.
  12. Thanks Iron! I will keep you in mind for next time (left early to visit LBS near home yesterday). Please PM me your number so that I can contact you next time that I need help.
  13. Thanks for the feedback. Was hoping for something near Greenstone as this is close to my work - for the times when I don't have time to visit the LBS near home. BUT glad to see that I am not the only one finding Johnson Cycles totally stupid with their prices. Was told yesterday they want to charge me R100 to quickly set the gears. Phoned 2 other shops who ask R40 or R50 for that. I now refuse to use them!
  14. Hi Which LBS is closest to the Greenstone area that you guys can recommend? Specifically for the quality and pricing of the workshop? I have been to Johnson Cycles in Edenvale, but i find their pricing expensive...
  15. Hi Gerhard - Ja dis amazing. Ek onthou ons het toevallig in 2011 saam klaar gemaak. Verbaas Edenvale was ook al2 jare binne dieselfde foto!! Arrie
  16. Hi - I was in the red/black spez with Lab kit. Yes you were on Gerhard's (Bianchi) tail. I chased just behind you guys.
  17. I must have finished with you then! I got dropped with that crash in AL in the dip at about 50km mark. Had to leave the tar to avoid hitting the rider on the ground. I chased the AL pack in a solo effort and caught up about 2-3km later being completely wasted. While sitting at the back trying to recover there was the break just before Heidelberg (where you got popped) which I saw too late and did not have the energy at that time to chase for a second time. Had a good hard ride with the other 7 guys back to the finish and still managed a 40km'h avg.
  18. Once we changed to 25C Gators with tyre liners we had much less hassles on the tandem. We never went out below 8bar. Having said this our combined body weight is less than 125kg. So it sounds like you have the right equipment just maybe bad luck. PS: I had 4 punctures on my road bike this week - after the rain all the crap runs back onto the riding surface... maybe this contributed to your problem this week.
  19. So far I like them. Ordered some items at around 4pm. Had it next morning!
  20. Phoned a LBS or two yesterday and seems like 11-27 was made by shimano but can't get stock in SA anymore and SRAM doesn't do 11-27. What's the 2nd best choice then?
  21. Thanks Big JD. Are you running SRAM or Shimano casette? I was also wondering should I go Ultegra or DuraAce. Do you get so much more benefit for the difference on price?
  22. Hi I want to fit a 11-27 casette on a road bike that currently runs with full SRAM Red. Seems like shimano offers this ratio. Is anybody using this ratio and any issues I need to know about to run such a set-up?
  23. Yes I also saw the price and wondered if its a typo... seems expensive? The organisation was cool last year but the route was not cool. Too many roads made for the event through grass fields resulting in grass pole mania...
