  1. How do I purchase a cyclosport licence? Will this option be available online at the csa website from 24thDec ? As currently it is not.
  2. Wake up earlier; leave earlier; get there earlier. Sleep for awhile in your car....an old runners trick....geeez cyclists are a bunch of p~ssys !!! Like I said, in another post, I though it was a really well organised event IMO.
  3. I run. (I swim). I cycle. I ride my GS12. I have a bakkie. I've got a C1 economy car.........it's getting freekin expensive; trying to keep everyone happy, just so i can relate to everyone's "pain" on the roads. Beginning to think that I should be an asshole all the time to everyone ;no matter what mode I'm in! But if pressed, IMO, cyclists are the biggest tossers on the road with the biggest egos...and i don't give a ratsass if BigH doesn't think I'm qualified to 1. Write this thread or 2. Be on the same forum as him. Should I ...so i don't hurt anyone's feelings?headhunter2009-10-28 07:09:31
  4. You've got my details, I would like to assist, if needed.
  5. ? It's not... Agreed. But a good chance they are dead and wont be there to settle in court with the driver. Then what smart@ss? These guys need help and mentoring, otherwise a few mommies will be crying over yet another cycling statistic. Only a matter of time IMHO.
  6. Cyclists riding badly. Hopefully the "coach" or mentor of this group of cyclists can read this or at least be made aware that this group of cyclists haven't a friggin clue on how to ride safely. I use the inverted comma's around the words "development" because the riders in question were black and maybe coloured youngsters ranging (I think ) in age from 10-16 years . A group of 10-15 riders. They were kitted out on black cycling shorts and white tops with a green stripe running from the neck downwards and Pick 'n Pay is clearly visable on the tops. They were riding 3/4 abreast up the Irene / Steynsrust Rd (above the R102) towards the Somerset College area at about 16h15 yesterday ,heading towards Abelia Street /R44. What these kids were doing, was taking up the entire lane going up hill (the road is steep and a solid white line) and causing a back up of frustrated motorists behind them. They were oblivious to the cars and forced the motorists to overtake them across the white lines. Lots of fist shaking and swearing entailed. I just feel that the coach should be aware and mentoring the group on safety and road etiquette. PS I wasn't in a car at the time, I was on the opposite side of the road running up that friggin' mother of a hill. headhunter2009-10-23 02:00:51
  7. Hi Guys Hoping for some advice here. Basically, the display unit to transmitter (mounted on the fork) continually either loses reception or starts to give inaccurate readings e.g. I'm riding at 25kmph and then it drops to 12kmph and then goes back to 25 etc etc (no the terrain isn't changing ). I find I have to continually keep lining up the spoke magnet to transmitter as the transmitter keeps moving away from the +/- 5mm recommended distance. If I tighten the transmitter too much on the thumb screw at the top of it, to stop it moving around on bumpy tar roads; it wont display at all. When I took my bike in for it's first service, I told the shop about the issue, they put on new cable ties and sticky tape to re-mount the transmitter but within one ride , it was doing the same thing!! My simple technical observation of the transmitter unit; seems to me that they are designed for the older rounder steel forks and not the newer carbon oblong forks, It doesn't sit flush against the fork and thus doesn't sit at the correct angle to truly pick up the magnet IMO??? Any help on set up will be greatly appreciated.
  8. I concur. The more I look, the more I like.

  17. intern...Glad, that you had a good FPC experience(did they use vaz?) when he assraped ya? Better I guess, than the "no vaz" option, they've been using for years. The fact that they met and even discussed margins is illegal...seems to be missed here. Enjoy the vaz.headhunter2009-04-01 05:04:02
  18. Yep, these margins keep me employed ...hope they (the Comp Board) don't find out. But then again WTF all the major shareholders are either politicians or offshore,so not gonna happen.
  19. Have been lurking for awhile ;this site rocks BTW! As a soon to be, buyer of a bicycle (once Two Oceans and Comrades is over) I thought it pertinent, to post my thoughts... Apologies for my ignorance of the law BUT isn't price fixing against the law? And; surely , if you get together to fix prices; isn't that tantamount to actually wanting to commit a crime? Sorta like; I want to kill all my classmates and shoot them teachers down....sorry i wont really do it,since you've got my notes on the subject, written in scribbly handwriting? As for my opinion on McLean et al ; I really don't give a rats @ss what they've done for the sport, you commit a crime do the friggin' time. Just because they may have been "someone" when they were in the sport doesn't justify squat IMHO.
