  1. Tarmac...how about selling the KCNC 's to me ? Special price please ?
  2. BTW Red is faster . It's been proven !
  3. Yep, they are awesome . I replaced the standard skewers that came with my EA90SLX's with these. They were of similar weight to your DA's. No problems with the KCNC's so far . I am just slightly more careful when I tighten them , tend to pay more attention and don't over tighten.
  4. Obviously not enough Giro riders Woosie! By using the term "Giro", this dude obviously is a Lance evangelist. And a Giro ain't a Giro, without ole One Ball, now is it ?
  5. This was the feedback I have received from the person that does the mathematical calculations of the seeding, when I queried the PPA seeding finishing time of 3h42 compared to RACETec's 4h0m58s. “Try to think what time the winner would have done if the field doing the Giro were doing this race. It would have been about 3:42. The race was won by 2 riders who broke away at the start and are just average front bunch riders in the league. I would expect them to be 19 minutes slower than what the Giro bunch could manage. Not that I am being subjective here – just that the formula gives that answer for how much slower the winners were going than if the entire Giro bunch had been present.”
  6. Skankman and Woosie.....there's a movie in there somewhere? A 1970's blue move ....que the piped organ music :D
  7. I've run over 20 standard marathons; 15 ultra marathons, 2x 18-24hr circuit races,2x1000km Challenges and a couple of multiday stage races (plus too many 21kms and 10 kms to remember) in the past 4 years and IMHO they did absolutely diddly squat , nudda & nothing for my cycling... physically and cycle muscle strengthening wise. Menatally; well, I believe that is where I benefitted from running the most. At the Burgher this year, I will have been cycling for 1 year; I've gone from a Z to a H PPA seeding [no thanks to the PPA seeding system] and did my first Argus in 3h40 and One Tonner in 4h46m and mentally & physically i didn't find these tough at all, compared to the Comrades etc etc ... IMHO there is nothing better than cycling for cycling and the longer you spend in the saddle and the better qulaity the workouts (hills & repeats) you introduce into your cycling the better you are for it. Also, ride with guys who are better and more phyisically cycling fit than you; that helps too. A Killarney track session every now and then helps too. My running is down to 3 times a week and nothing more than 15kms at a single run. I agree with the comment above about weight loss, I've lost more weight on the bike than I ever did running.
  8. Yeah, I noticed that as well..... there was in my case; a 7 point swing in my favour. WTF, this surely proves that this PPA seeding system is indeed f@rked up ? And while I'm bitching; there was a 5 point difference between my PPA index and CL national index before the 1 Tonner and yes you guessed it..... they both used the same 3 races to provide me with an index....now that truly is f@rked up.
  9. The 3h42 winning time on PPA website may just be an entry error, as I see the winning time for West Coast is the same 1h56m08s , maybe ?
  10. Johan, I know I've asked this before BUT....when are you coming to Cape Town to run a road bike repair and maintenance course ? I'm going be leaving for OZ in the next few months and would like to attend one of your workshops before I leave.
  11. What skewers do you have on your Pin ? Or is just KCNC chains you wont touch ?
  12. One should choose their battles wisely; surely you engaged your brain and saw this "hidden" message in my original post? So don't be a tool (thanks for showing me the use of this word BTW) and engage your brain before using hardware terms......unless you are a cycle parts distributor/LBS owner, who wants to continue keeping on fleecing the SA cycling public? Yep, one man's terrorist is another mans freedom fighter....but a tool remains a tool in anyones' language. and the use of the term "ag" tells me you are a "gereedskap"
  13. Don't be a tool and believe that your holier than thou crusade against replica kits produced in (in fact a sheet load of other Chinese product "fakes" as well) China is going to lead anywhere, tool.
  14. This is all very "noble" of you but you are going after the wrong person. These kits are from China. Good luck with going after them. Climb down off your soap box and high horse and find a better cause.
  15. Similar story in school....My mates' mom used to give me a biscuit, after every time I used to bonk her...f@£k do you put on weight with munching boxes of Eatsummores
  16. Aaaaaahhhh, the light comes on Now I know why your distance's of rides are always so wrong :D Speed reading from the magnet based on wheel size (inputted at bike setup function or automatically picked up from your intial movement after intial setup of device) is the only way to go for "to the meter" accuracy. By cheating yourself of 3g, you are cheating yourself of mundo km's in the long run :D
  17. So you only have the cad sensor and no magnet attached to rear spoke?
  18. as an fyi......Speed on the 500 (as in 305 and 705 and i would presume the 800 as well) is always taken from the magnet first and foremost (if installed on bike), secondly from GPS function. On set up for the bike/cadence sensor option you can either enter your wheel size or not. If you choose not to , it (wheel size) will automatically be picked up by the satelite the next time you ride and this info dumped into the 500 CPU's memory automatically. No need to manually switch off GPS function on 500 when indoors for IDT workout, it will automatically know that you are indoors.....after not locating sats, screen message "Unable to locate sats, are you indoors?" will appear. Enter "yes".
  19. 250g-400g a week weight loss was the guidline; I was given by my running medical friends almost 4 years ago. This way they said, it would limit the weight "bounching" effect that is common in most weight loss programmes. And weight was more likely to stay, off using this guideline. I started at 109kg's and now weigh 78-80kg's, . Have had a couple of relapses's , typically around Christmas and New Year timeframes, but generally through increased exercise and eating smaller meals/snacks (Note: I didn't say healthier !) more often during the day...it seems to have worked. Alchohol, coke and coffee were decreased. Good luck to all in their quest to fight the flab.
  20. surgery is expensive...had to pay for it somehow
  21. His FDJ bib shorts got quite wet on the ride yesterday, not a pretty sight but wasn't as bad as listening to Frails' yeast infection complaints
  22. MariusL....why don't you ask Scott, our DC team mate, the next time you see him? I'm really looking forward to his response to you
  23. I've been on the RunnersWorld and RunnersTalk forums since early 2007. Agree totally with you. I spend 99% of my time here. RW forum has died due to political correctness and RT ; well , like you mentioned; boring and too frigging nice with each other.
  24. I have the zero's and they are pretty cool. If you go to the Speedplay website they list the differences between their various models there. Essentially, the light action model is made of "cheaper", less robust materials and generally is recommended for training (from the website). The more expensive models like the zero's are made of different materials and are more durable to racing conditions. BTW there is also a full carbon model of them......about 6000 raaawndt WTF ?
  25. If you are gonna spend 16k on that Eyetye cr@ppola....then spend a few grand more and go...... Di2 Nothing else can compete. My Red goes in December and Di2 is on.
