  1. Welcome to my World!! Am ready to throw my Thule on the rubbish dump. I have had exactly the same issue as you (which is a relief as i thought I was the only one with this problem). Somehow stopping 3 times on the highway, female with children in car, to sort out bike rack is not such a great experience I can assure you. And this problem happens with just 1 bike (the tandem) on it! Waiting for the Thule rep to visit my lbs so I can address the issue with him.
  2. geez I did not know that about Roag shutting down?? :-(
  3. Or you can do what I did this year. I joined a club as was required for the licence etc. etc. This one: Club Roag - R0.00 no charge and all above board and recognised! Ok so they dont issue club kit. No after race hospitality tents etc etc but it sure saves me a lot of money in the long run! The only thing I have to pay is the R75-00 for CSA membership.

    probably because you're so smooooooooooooooooth....
  11. Such a sad day - my heartfelt sympathy to her young family and friends. I was there too with my little one on the tandem and it was a very well organised race as it always is. The marshalls did a superb job all the way - how do you stop a car if you stand at the intersection with just a flag - you can only just hope and pray they'll respect you enough!! How many of us every actually say 'thank you' when passing these very marshalls??
  12. Choice language Kent - wow what a guy! How do you even know that Joe Low has not been a victim already?? Its a cycling forum - tell the story by all means if you have to, we are all sick of crime but really there is no need for gruesome pictures or for verbally attacking someone who dared to voice his opinion. 13. and in and amongst all those thousands of cyclists Shaun found my daughter and I!! How fantastic to see you and thank you for giving us the opportunity to be part of the campaign!! You are an example to so many of us who just sit back and let others make things happen!!
  14. Incidentally' date=' did any of you find a sticker in your goodiebags at Argus last year, referring to yellow lane driving? Pickfords, PPA and CSA had put money into that effort, but I never saw the result. CL[/quote'] Yes, we got them in our goodie bags
  15. PM sent
  16. So sorry to hear Ianj!! Hope you recover fast!!
  17. Dave Wiseman Cycles "Ride of the Clubs" on Boxing Day. The Ride leaves Dave Wiseman Cycles in Moore Road at 6.00 am and heads South to a turnaround at the beachfront in Toti. Toti Cycle Club supply Energade and bits of Chelsea Bun to the riders. Some guys carry on down the coast, and some go back to Durban -- it is quite relaxed. The beneficiary of this event is KZN Junior Cycling. Donations taken at the watering point. For more details - pm me!
  18. thanks 1Hill!!
  19. Wolverine and Joe Low
  20. Ahum, collarbone fracturing and TREE HUGGING are actions performed due to the offenders own free will to ride and have nothing to do with being accompanied by me. just peculiar that seconds before these incidents happen, you suddenly shout out something thus distracting us.... the karkloof classic is a perfect example - though the revenge was sweet...how is your knee??....
  21. and me ! when is this happening?
  22. Danger Dassie = nice that someone actually appreciates what this man is doing! Brilliant idea re the club's accompanying him. The KZN hubbers can at least make the effort, the few I know will be more than happy to I am sure. Will keep you posted. and to those that have nothing valuable to add - meet the man and see if you can even remotely stand in his shadow.... then decide whether you should be so unbelievably disrespectful.
