I can't say much at the moment, but I'm privileged enough to be working on the Bloodhound SSC project at Haakskeen Pan. What an incredible place and what an incredible project. That pan is so flat, that over the 20km track, the elevation change is less than 20cm. Next year they are aiming to break the landspeed record, and then the following year to go over 1000mph.

That does look good. Will add it to my 'must-watch' list.

Anybody else watch the first episode of The Grand Tour? I really enjoyed it. That opening sequence was awesome, and the production incredible. There was a couple of rather random scenes that missed the mark a bit, but I'm looking forward to the rest of the season. Next week they are in Jhb.

I'll never forget the one time, one of the naughtiest kids in the class, and one of the biggest instigators of the drawing pins on chairs thing, was playing the fool at the front of the class room when the teacher had to step out. Anticipating that he would be rushing back to his chair when the teacher came back, and not having a chance to check his seat, we must of placed almost a dozen drawing pins on his chair. True as nuts, teacher comes back, he sprints back and jumps onto his chair. The kid must have had at least 6 pins stuck deep in his bum cheeks.

Ha ha. Why didn't you just stop and take it out? Speaking of drawing pins, I remember as kids at school putting them on friends chairs before they sat down. Then, when everyone become wise to it, and checked their chair before sitting, we would put the drawing pin/s on a piece of sellotape and gently stick it to their bums without them noticing. There were a couple of painful moments there.

I've been interchanging between the flats and clips this year, but definitely prefer riding on the flats. What I did notice when I went back to the clips for a while (did it because I was training for a stage race), was an improvement in skill and confidence, which I contribute to riding on the flats.
