Hi Guys So after a couple of years of the bike, I took my bike of the wall and went for a spin. Bike is in need of a service, fork service (I guess as it is as floppy as a floppy) and the freebody also needs a service. Recently moved to somerset so not sure where the "locals" go. And then also looking for a xs road bike for wifey that wants to get back on the bike as well.

Check the weight and your license. My in laws has a 160 and it is to heavy for a regular B license, also if it has the run in brakes, you will need an EB. I have an echo 3 and ticks all of your boxes. .

Finally my bike will be fitted with a pipe, hopefully loud. I have no idea what it going to sound like but the whole pipe is about as thick as a 2 liter bottle and as long as the Versys underbelly unit that is the cat and muffler etc all in one. I have been googling a bit, but can not find any summary of shape of exhaust and sound. All that I find is basically anything aftermarket will be louder.

what do you guys think of fitting used track tyres for everyday use? I am not convinced that it is safe.

Do any of you know where I can take my bike for dyno tuning in the northern suburbs after I change the exhaust.

I am on that route regularly in a car or motorbike. No matter what the law says about 1.5 meter etc, i think it is irresponsible to ride that route on a bicycle.

okay so after a very long time of not riding or running, I have started running. Not very fast, and keeping the pace very slow so that I can run 20 min. Question is why o why, would my shin muscle on the left leg start cramping???? I did not even know that that can cramp!!!

Took the versys over du toits kloof over the weekend with the wife on the back. First observation was that I shifted a lot more than with the BMW. The dakkie you threw into 5th and you could just go with it. BUT... the versys was so much nicer. Smooth into the corners and even better going out. The tyres are more connected and everything is more responsive. Overtaking on the pass was also a whole different story. Drop a gear open up, and you are passed whatever was infront of you. Not saying the BMW is bad, but horses for courses. The guy who bought the BMW also phoned me to say that he dropped the bike in his driveway. Broken mirror (R1300 from BMW) Broken Plastic (R1000 from motorcycle graveyard) Bend crashbar (Don't know) and topbox broken. All because he did not check that the side stand is out properly

Looking forward to Woodstock Co garage build weekend where people show of their custom builds!! they have teasers on their FB page an man some dudes know what they are doing. I am not a fan of cafe racers and street fighter things but some of those works are nice to look at. Strange that it is mostly old BMWs and Hondas.
