  1. How do you do that yourself? ... anyone attempted that self medication before? (successfully)
  2. 'Fenton' seems to have a nice ring to it
  3. Ek voel nou sommer nes 'n nat hoender
  4. Thanks, will rather go to Neverending then.
  5. I was considering to go to saaltjie this coming weekend - it seemed to be open 5 days ago: https://instagram.com/specializedza/ Can I legally get there currently? Keen to ride Jonkers again, but very strict on myself to do only 'open' routes. Personally I would think when routes are closed, they are 100% closed for a reason - they should not be open to 'invites' until the reason for the closure is invalid.
  6. Hi If I look at your screenshot and compare it with http://bottelaryhillsmtb.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/40km-Green-Loop-Red-Route-and-Yellow-Loop-combined-from-Hazendal.jpg I have the following questions: (The colors used on them might send the opposite message.) a) Is the official 'green route' without 'Rooikat'? I.e. is Rooikat considered optional to the green route and red route? - i.e. not required for both the Red and Green routes or maybe only for one of them? b) If Rooikat is considered not optional for green or red - do you encourage the 'shortcut' to cut it out of Red & Green? Or should the 'scortcut' be one direction (North-East) for Red only? I don't try to be pedantic, just to get the 'official message' - I noticed the Bottelary network in OSM were out of date and started (on the green route) to update them (https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=16/-33.9295/18.7460) and adding OSM MTB tags like direction, gradient, difficulty etc.. (http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Mountain_biking). Please note work in progress and comments welcome.
  7. Thanks for removing the old 5.3 from the T&C's. What is the winning criteria and how (& by who) are the winners going to be selected?
  8. Thanks for adding the T&C's Guess me (and a lot of hubbers) are excluded of participating then "5.3 Register / be registered on the official 2016 ABSA Cape Epic waiting list" Then from https://www.cape-epic.com/riders/new-riders/how-to-enter/lottery-applications : "Only unsuccessful lottery applicants can register on the waiting list. Registration for the waiting list closes on 30 June" [The question on how the winner is going to be selected is not important any more]
  9. You need to be on a list to win this competition, or on a list to be pulled in as a partner/substitute? T&C's?
  10. What is the T&C's or where can we found it? (Competition started yesterday) Main question is how is the winner(s) selected? - random selection for hashtag or a panel reviewing photos for quality/'epicness'
  11. oops.. There goes my heritage celebration plans up in smoke Will consider the event
  12. Saturday 10 October is National Pinotage day. The oldest block of Pinotage are found in the Bottelary Hills.... plan your Saturday's ride carefully http://www.dewaal.co.za/event.aspx?DIARYID=14117&CLIENTID=3512&Title=EVENTS%c2%a0%c2%a0 http://www.dewaal.co.za/Page.aspx?PAGEID=3317&Type=About&CLIENTID=3512&Title=ABOUT%20OUR%20STORY Edit: who care about water points? Edit 2: 10 October, not the 11th
  13. I think you have the right business model Rickus. Had this on my 'must ride 2015' list since September last year, but had to miss it due to work. Send my 'nefie' & his mate in my place and ride a proper difficult route.... I hear you were looking for me (with my helmet this time ) The youngsters are raving about the ride. Bring on 2016!
  14. Thanks, Oakdale pet shop. Will go take a look.
  15. Yup, I was shocked what they can do in a short period of time when allowed to roam free. My coop is certainly big enough (shocking what small area can still be legally classified as 'free range' chicken), but have a concrete floor. Ideally I would give them time on the garden as well, but controlled. Looking at one of the mobile/drag-able coops to give them time outside. Must be light though - my project for the weekend. This is way to big for me and commercial, but I like what Farmer Angus do: http://www.farmerangus.co.za/2015/02/23/first-farmer-angus-gopro-video-what-is-an-eggmobile-february-2015/
  16. I got 4 Lohmans last weekend. One of them just started to lay (still ~small) eggs. Still figuring out with the coop layout (the old aviary). Anyone know where I can buy 1 or 2 straw bales in the Durbanville area?.
  17. The view approaching the corner: https://www.google.ie/maps/@40.6128988,-111.5709039,3a,75y,353.37h,68.44t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s8Mv-8MtR_Hc5ZvrcAJBZKQ!2e0!7i3328!8i1664
  18. I'm not so sure absolute safety along every meter of a route can ever be guaranteed. A bigger issue though - can I assume the guy that offered 1k bribes (to the guards from a registered company) was arrested? Please tell me he did not just walk away.
  19. The bulls are living proof that, although money help, there are things in life that can't simply be fixed by throwing more money at it or made OK with how much cash you carry in your wallet
  20. yes, but limited in size: I work from home so need to have 3+ PC's, wifi and internet dish on the roof. (Cant communicate the downtime every random day to the (patient) mother-ship in Ireland ). I also use it to drive a couple of lights, TV etc in the evening when required. Went for the smaller, but higher-end side of inverter with a single deep cycle battery. Expensive but I have a sort of gut feel where I'm going with future additional batteries or generator (last resort - noise) that also can go trough it etc. The big ones (that can handle full house i.e. kettle, ironing, freezer, geezer etc) are very very expensive though.... Work like a dream and absolutely no issues. No IT hardware issue during auto switching & charging as Eskom, well do the Eskom thing. To a point where I can say that at this stage Eskom don't affect me. (braai, camping gas for coffee do the rest)
  21. On a hot day I find it hard to cycle past the wine and craft beer shop in Vlottenburg without having a cold one first
  22. Another teaser, just because I don't consider you a friend right now....
  23. Swartberg Pass
  24. One of the few places where I'm comfortable if my wife ride on her own.
  25. Thanks! http://www.cape-epic.com/livetracking/
