  1. You just go man.
  2. Oh wait i found a whole 1 http://inthebunch.co.za/events/947-cycle-challenge/
  3. I find it weird that there were so many news articles building up to the race but hardly any after the race. No pics of the winners no interviews that i can find. Usually this stuff is up in a matter of hours. Or are my google skills dropping off?
  4. Just email them and ask. They custom make the tri wetsuits for you, they give you a chart on where to take measurements if you cant get to them. Couple guys on my team have them they very happy with them. Think they close to R3k could be wrong.
  5. what about Coral?
  6. Wow great story and well done, despite how you felt. Amazing accomplishment brings the humanity back into what for some seems an inhuman effort.
  7. I think we gonna see a lot of these moving through the sportsmans warehouse doors. Especially with Vitality discounts.
  8. Gees my dyslexia kicked in i read "Avid Beaver Clipper" there is coffee all over my notebook now.
  9. Thats awesome, cant wait to hear about the build up and race. Good Luck man!
  10. What is he up to these days?
  11. Gees I also swallowed a big gulp of water, turned my head to breath and breathed in a wave thanks to the jet ski. Been out of action ever since. Finally on the mend but will probably only get back to training on the weekend.
  12. In a 3 to 4 hour race when do you start drinking your first 500ml of carbs. Must it be consumed in the first hour of racing or only start after the first hour?
  13. That's a pretty decent time Renier well done. Was a pretty tough race in that heat. i must have dumped 20 litres of water over myself in that race trying to stay cool holy poop. The Ironman is just leaps and bounds ahead of some of the other triathlons i've been to and seen. Wow super impressed with organisation and support you get. Best value for money race will definitely be doing more of those.
  14. Good advice. Also, don't underestimate how hard that ride is and don't forget you still need to get those legs through a 10km run after it.
  15. It was organised between Mad Multisports (Mike) and our club Dare to Tri. We basically did a sprint tri of the entire course (swim bike run). Not sure if its generally open to the public to just go swim. We had to be clear of the water by 9am when they opened the dam to the ski thing.
  16. So did a lap around the dam at Bela Bela this past weekend. Oh my balls it was cold. I hope everyone has a wetsuit.
  17. Looks like our club (Dare to Tri) will be joining M.A.D for this. I will be there, must make a plan to hook up.
  18. Road Team Looks good, Moolman-Pasio real medal contender.
  19. bwahah tequila or jaeger wasn't it?
  20. Yeah so they have pretty much taken out the sections that smelt heavily of Pee. I'm ok with that.
  21. yeah it gets ridonculous. I am not going to do any of the trinity events for the new season for that reason. Just going to do the 2 5150 and 70.3 IM events. That with the cost of consumables for all the training and racing is making me pooh my pants. Always seem to be attracted to the expensive sports. If they gave out medals and t-shirts for flushing gold bars down a crapper I would be a pro at that too.
  22. Just start slow (very slow) with your swim and build pace gradually, you will be surprised how far you can go with that plan. If you start out at race pace you will be surprised at how far you cant go. After a while its not the swim that's the struggle its the boredom (on your long swim sessions). That's when you just start focusing on keeping your heart rate down and your technique up. Keep up the good work. Also you shouldn't be training your ass off every session or you going to get sick. Build gradually.
