  1. some cool shots. The idea of having a drone has been going through my mind a few times in recent days. Think I may flog some of my DSLR equipment that I dont use very often and put that cash towards a DJI Phantom 4 Pro
  2. Anyone know if we will get cash back on Salomon speedcross 4's ? On the shoe booster benefit .
  3. time to move to the high performance category. You would have got 450 points for 120-179min @ 60>69% HR
  4. what magic potions do you guys use for a chest cold ? Just have a heavy chest and cough...
  5. Standard reply from them... ""Dear Mr Thank you for your query sent to us via the Discovery website. Kindly note that there is an issue regarding these races and the cash backs due for them. This is currently being investigated by our systems department. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.""
  6. all cash back is paid into my Disco credit card. have listed all 3 events on the query to them. Amashova was around R360 I think.
  7. ok so I received my cash back from using my card, and my miles but nothing from vitality for the events. Have logged a query now so will let you know once I get feedback.
  8. Getting hiking fit again and was out on a short 4km walk yesterday with backpack and gear, loaded to 14kg. [will be at about 21kg for my Berg trip in March] First day is 8km with lotsa elevation. Got this shot.
  9. My billing date seems to be moving out each month, no cash backs are reflecting yet. Should be updated tomorrow or Tuesday latest, will let you know.
  10. Try Outdoor photo classifieds or maybe Kameraz in Rosebank.
  11. shot with the 70-200 mk2 wide open @ f2.8.
  12. There's actually not much need for something in the 35-100 range unless you do alot of portraits or studio stuff. But if you really want something, the 24-105 is the way to go. I would rather put that money towards that 70-200 you want. And here if you can, buy the mk2 version. The quality of this glass is amazing, absolutely super sharp with great AF.
  13. Not a great example, but it can be done with a single shot. This was with a 5D3 @ ISO6400 + 16-35 @ F3.2, 30sec Post processing plays a big role in getting this right, so best would be to learn how to manually blend images using Photoshop. Sometimes you can't always get it done in camera, and anyway almost 99.99% of images you see these days are worked on.
  14. Astro is very tricky, and your equipment plays a huge role here. Fullframe body and a f2.8 lens or better makes it much easier, but it is still tricky as you have to find the right balance of ISO/exposure time etc. I am doing a 4 day trip on the Berg with some of SA's best landscape photographers and this is 1 area where I am going to take the much needed tips. I have the gear, just need to improve the skills.
  15. Shot from Wilsons Wharf looking over the Durban Esplanade / or Victoria Embankment as its known to many.
  16. Another at the Yacht club
  17. Wilson wharf, 5 minute exposure.
  18. I think they adjusted through BMI range also, need to read again. I am 2kg out from what I should be, think I will wait it out until I loose those extra pounds then do the test.
  19. agree, these screening tests are never 100%. I was in the same boat last year but results with a proper blood test was fine. But, this is more about getting the points to get to gold.
  20. agree here, also been on elite for a while now and find it very easy to meet the goals.
  21. if you not a pro riding 10 hours a day, you should be on here socializing...
  22. Carnival - 3:09 947 - 3:04
  23. lets wait for that mysterious BETA number to confirm which race was tougher... Carnival on a good day will definitely be faster.
