  4. I need to get a new road wheelset, dont want to spend more than R4 000... which wheels and from where should i get em??? Tks
  5. ... when you have to take a days leave just to pop in at home affairs/licence department.
  6. since when do the guys in the cape actually race??? hehehe
  7. Just wondering, doesn't the CSA 2011 license system go live today? or isn't it supposed 2?
  8. knowing CSA, it'll prob change 3 or 4 more times before it is final anyway... they'll change it up a bit im sure.
  9. just a scenario... i am an individual u23 cat2 racer... i perform well in cat2, show consistency and start winning every odd race. team MTN loses a rider like Jaco Venter to an overseas team and then need another rider for the following year to keep their team up to strength... they look at cat2 and see i have been winning left, right and centre all year long- bobs your uncle... i get a SA pro contract with a team. make sense? i think cat 2 is going to be the most competitive bunch of the lot...
  10. I think it'll do the world of good for the juniors and the women, it'll up their game close enough to the level of junior and women racing in Europe in terms of bunch size, race speed, race distance etc... if they stick with this system for at least the next 5 years then i bet we will start to see some really good results by RSA riders on the international scene, women and men.
  11. awesome changes... good stuff
  12. in the pdf it does not say 150-200 vets by seeding. it just says, Next 150-‐200 full racing license registered riders. so i dont think that cat 2,3, and 4 will only be made up of the remaining vets and women... your individual juniors, elites and u23 riders will also fit into these groups. am i right? if it so then i like it, a lot! because with me being an u23 rider not on a team i hope to race in cat2 next year and not the open seeded bunches! i think CSA are on to something that can definitely work now! The cycling public and race organizers just need to buy into it and give CSA a chance. We will never get anywhere if all parties keep pulling against each other and never come to an agreement. im looking forward to the official announcement on the Racing regulations... i just hope it comes soon so that all the finer details can be ironed out, such as moving up and down between cats. I will gladly pay the R350 license fee if they adopt these regulations.
  13. i wonder when CSA plan to officially announce these rules and regulations.... my bet is at least a month and a half still...

    CSA 2011 POLL

    bump
  17. I agree, Barry and Hendrik are the right men for their jobs... they are really doing a lot of good work considering where they started from at CSA. I am sure RSA will be able to compete with nations such as AUS and the UK in the next 3 years if they stay at CSA. This is what i would want... firstly, a job at CSA... would love to be part of the change secondly... A licence fee of R300 that gets me 1 number to use the whole year as race cat rider. R150 for a CSA timing chip to be used at all CSA sanctioned events Race cat 1 open to riders of all age cats in pro teams (all races over 140km) Race cat 2 open to riders of all age cats (your typical 100km races) Race cat 3 open to riders of all age cats (your typical 100km races) Race cat 4 open to riders of all age cats (your typical 100km races) Race cat 5 open to riders of all age cats (your typical 100km races) Race cat 0 open to riders Under 16 (all races less than 90km) *These are the only cats awarded prize money. *There is a seeding criteria run by CSA, which determines which race cat i initially fall under. *The first 20 places in every CSA sanctioned race get points. *You need to reach a certain number of points to move up a cat. *As soon as you hit that amount of points you must move up, unless you are a Cat 2 racer 30 years or older... then the move to Cat 1 is optional. *Teams will form automatically, for example cycle lab, club 100 etc. would have riders in every category anyway and they would be stupid not race as a team. Everyone that does not want to be in a race cat... A License fee of R250 that gets them 1 race number to use the whole year as an open seeded rider R150 for a CSA timing chip to be used at all CSA sanctioned events Groups as they have always been... Tandems A Bunch B Bunch C Bunch etc. When a riders seeding reaches race cat level 5 they can move into that race cat for the very next race
