  1. I was close to the start on my road bike, then decided after my comment and avoid any physical harm to me to put safety first and hightail out of there.
  2. Did my drivers renewal without any glasses, but for reading and close up I use them. Frustrating sometimes when I forget them and browse bike shops but cant see the prices properly.
  3. Is there a bike park like last year.
  4. Spacers on a cluster are there for a reason.
  5. Best year in a while, save for getting a cold a few times. Usually I get whatever strains of flu are going around which end in complications and lengthy periods of no riding.
  6. LoL moment of madness comment on my part. Having been involved ( if fixing potholes, painting warnings at dodgy sections and been route marshal counts) previously with your race i should have known better.
  7. The fact that there's free flowing traffic through robots, stop signs etc, a seeding race for CTCT and 947 then beer and boerrie rolls at the end which I will not get with otherwise. #hopethatanswersyourquestion.
  8. Following on from been prepared on the Amashova thread, if the wind continues like it does today would switching to an e-bike count.
  9. Road seeding is out.
  10. I'll take my smack like a man.
  11. Sorry Frosty that came across as harsh, I know its well organized and entry fees go to good cause. I am doing the road race though.
  12. Nah, not doing it. I ride the trails regularly enough for free using my own water and supplements. Not sure if Carnival charge for hosting it but race cant cost much, except for having metro on hand for the road cross over from Carnival to Dalpark, timing (I can time myself), medals (don't need, don't want) throw in a couple of WP's with coke, energade or water, the trails are all open and can be ridden anytime.
  13. You should be fine, the trails are flat and fast with no technical sections.
  14. Write up. Winner Dusty Day lives up to his name with helmet hair. https://citizen.co.za/news/2193826/cyclists-tackle-joburgs-new-gravel-fondo-bike-race/
  15. Not a comment you would expect from someone who is tasked to steer the ship. At a media briefing yesterday to explain why load shedding has returned and what Eskom plans to do about it, Mabuza responded to a question on whether he is the right person for his job by explaining that he didn’t apply for it and was there due to the decisions of President Cyril Ramaphosa and Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan. “Am I the right person? I would have applied for the job if I had the qualifications and I wanted it. I didn’t apply for this. South Africans and the president and the minister must make the call,” he said. https://citizen.co.za/news/south-africa/load-shedding/2193152/eff-calls-for-admittedly-clueless-mabuza-to-go/
  16. Follow the money trail here.
  17. .
  18. I've watched it a couple of times, and will still.
  19. So confident I am that the Boks will make it to finals that I got this, failing which I'm sending the invoice to SA Rugby.
  20. Versus SA socks to go with my SA Cycling shirt.
  21. Not through lack of trying, of course there will be critics. But one has to ask why would a "right wing" organization who would love to see SA fail make such an initiation to save SA Solidarity plans to propagate the skills bank widely among its members, former members and their networks. “We plan to post it on overseas groups, and we call on South African embassies and missions to help register South African skills so we could have the opportunity to re-recruit them. Many of the experts are abroad for the time being only and would be keen to offer their skills in South Africa instead. Thousands of retired engineers and technicians in South Africa are also ready to offer their help,” Hermann said. According to Solidarity, the best investment that can be made in Eskom right now is an investment in top skills, even if it is only for the interim to ease Eskom out of its crisis. https://solidariteit.co.za/en/eskom-solidarity-offers-help-to-address-skills-shortage/
  22. I'm one of the lucky few in that they seem to have have forgotten about my area, since load shedding first began about 12 years ago we have been hit 2 or 3 times, one might even call it incompetence that they not able to stick to a schedule like other areas. Cable theft, now that's another story and regular occurrence.
  23. I do think the Irish game they were underestimated as Ireland did not play their strongest team believing they have it in the bag. When Ireland played Scotland both fielded their A group and Ireland thumped Scotland. I'm not much of a should have, could have but the result would have shown if the Irish A squad had run out against the Japanese instead.
  24. Happened to me one 947 where I was bumped up to Vets even though I only held cycling membership and not license, no ways was i going to ride there.
  25. Seeding taken from a pancake flat Sondela, after kicking off L the last few years I'm in H and off at 6:46.
