  3. Yup passed you guys and girls on the R23 heading towrds Heidelberg, wind was quite hectic, to be noted 2 large groups of cyclists can greet and safely pass each other without upsetting other road users.
  4. [quote name=Cradleresident As to the public road thing' date=' just shows your arogance, we can ride where we like and you must just accept it. i promise you. [/quote] Actually we can ride where we like if its a public road and you must accept it, what we cant do is ride like cowboys, here i agree its not acceptable.
  5. Definitely CGC, its what clubs pay affiliation fees for to serve the interests of cyclists.
  6. Yes it does put it into perspective' date=' if you read the replies you will see a lot of comments BY CYCLIST critical of the action of those riders, this however has not stopped you from lumping all cyclist into one large generalized group.
  7. Tragic news, condolences
  8. Regards the goody bag socks, nope, dont like them, never wear them.
  9. Cool idea, been wondering what to do with the socks i get in the goody bags.
  10. Nope, but its MTB ride so as long as they stay away from tar it should not be a problem.
  11. Sorry you feel that way, you are always welcome on the roads in the east rand whether in your car or on a bicycle.
  12. Bit of tolerance and patience, driving up along Sylvia's pass i often come across riders struggling up the incline which is windy, no problem to me i just patiently ride behind them until its safe for to overtake without endangering them or me, this elicits a wave of thanks from them. If i do come across cyclists that are riding badly, i do hoot but do it in such a way as to not frighten them or anger them and get an apology wave rather than a middle finger wave.
  13. Level headed replies so far, no throw rocks, beat him up calls one would expect.
  14. This after all the effort you and IanJ did the last time, seems the CR have made up their minds not to tolerate cyclists on "their" roads
  15. The area you mention riding through should be safe from mugger point of view so unlikely you have to be too concerned there, but it get very busy with traffic so this for me would be a bigger concern.
  16. As mentioned you will need a pump and something for security, combine the 2 and carry a pump action shotgun.
  17. I assume the unit was under guarantee and they replaced it, however when its out of guarantee they tell you all you need to do is update the units firmware. Sounds like BS from Garmin and they know there is a problem.
  18. I've only done the route when its dry and found it not too bad, but then there were not many other riders on the route so no congestion. I think the orgs have done the best they can for the area they got.
  19. Missed the storm but my dogs had a ball in it, they seem to love rain and mud.
  20. For R3000 you should be able to pick up a good HT with V brakes, deore or even LX components and good shock 2nd hand.
  21. The always rubs can be reduced by increased maintenance
  22. Rode it on saturday, looked nothing like that
