  1. Having a lic is not automatic entry ride in lic group. If you dont have a seeding i'm assuming you are a relative new cyclists and need to work your way up. Argus, 94.7 and WP/PPA have their own seeding race criteria, most other races use National seeding which is on Supercycling.
  2. The long line at late entry queue at registration it appears there are plenty of late entries.
  3. I've been to the ones in fourways and boksburg and had good experience, regards the price, dont pay whats marked on the item they will adjust down. I got an Ultgera cluster R50 cheaper than CWC and thats before postage.
  4. BL group start time 6.33, i'm cycling to the start so i have to leave plenty early.
  5. Subscribed to Tread mag from 1st edition which must have gone on a round the world trip as i only received it about a month after i had already received the 2nd edition.
  6. Go Boksburg girl
  7. Start groups and times are out.
  8. Yeah i ride with Sunward quite often. I take it you're in the Sunward area, perhaps PM Silverstreak to find out if there are any rides weekdays.
  9. Rides up to 2 hours 1 bottle plain water, 2 - 3 hours 1 bottle energy drink, anything longer 1 bottle water 1 bottle energy drink. Sometimes my planned ride of 2-3 hours takes longer but then i stop at a shop and buy something.
  10. There is a weekend group ride organised by Sunward Cycles, leave 6am from Sunward Village in Nicholson street, different distances and speed categories. There is a group leaving from Tour de Frans cycles early weekdays, warning though this group is fast.
  11. BS!! After the IPL games we had last year there wernt a single bottle on the ground after the games! Thats cause they were all in the air as missiles.
  12. Nice Those Easton wheels make a good colour match
  13. Yup that was in 2003, he retuned the favour for 2001 when Lance ahead of at the time slowed down. "The drama was not over. Lance Armstrong is a very good decender, meaning he car really fly down the mountain on the decent. Jan Ulrich, who is not a good decender, in his haste to catchup with Armstrong pulled out all the stops. Ulrich got careless and misread the road. The German overshot a curve and went into a ravine. Armstrong saw it happen and as a gentleman, Lance slowed down to see if Ulrich was OK. Later in a news conference, The American said, ?he did not think it right to take advantage of someone when they had bad luck.? But lets not get side tracked and keep this thread to Evans great sportmanship during the day.

    blablabla

You working in the seeding department? Nope' date=' only stirring.[/quote'] LOL at your reply *** Avatar tho With Muir as coach and Spencer playing for them, come end of Super14 plenty of hubbers will change there's to similiar.
  15. Fan of eastons, but those easton wheels are too blingy for me.
  16. Not every cycleshop has access to the Hub also these guys have a business to run so dont have the time. There are 2 sides to a story as previous hub stories have played out.
  17. Always carry my cell phone and some cash. Road 2 tubes, 1 bomb and a pump, MTB 2 tubes, pump, multi tool, tire patch, chain link, presta/shrader adjuster. If you dont carry tyre levers, quick releases make a good alternative.
  18. Would have thought after slipping on the metal fence the 1st time he would give up.
  19. if you're watching the bulls, the tools are provided. *awaits bigh's arrival?* I'll send him a pm with the link
  20. Cool, 200 late entries charged @ R300 to enter, orgs will make whopping R187.00 interest in a call account for 30 days. 1000 late entries @ R300 they make R936.00 for the same period. scotty2010-01-28 08:18:39
  21. Interest wont be much, on a 32 day R500 000.00 it will barely reach R2500, on call account much less than that.
  22. Could be true, but would be very unscrupulous of them and criminal charges should be laid for theft.
  23. Its not about portion ie. entry cost R180 therefore donation to charity will be R10, but whats left after ..Metro has been paid, CSA have been paid, Timing have been paid, medals have been paid, hire of venue have been paid, cost to set up wp, petrol costs have been paid, cost of advertising, online entry costs, banking costs, prize money etc, these costs are not negotiable. What ever is left over is then handed to the charity usually Lions or Roundtable who also provide marshals and volunteers on the race day. Basic bookeeping if the costs are more than income (and there are races that lose money) , orgs share the loss and charities get nothing. scotty2010-01-28 02:39:01
