There was a sports nutritionist on SC who stated that there is no one reason for cramps, pills such as cramp stop, magnesium etc are all hype and gimmick and that cramps has more to do with the muscle fibre heat up vs cooling down. Training is punted as the best remedy but still no sure fire solution and unfortunately due to genetic make up some are more likely to cramp than others.

The park tool tyre boot worked for me, carry it both on and off road.

I dont believe there is one bike shop that has 100% satisfied customer's, one riders good experience with a shop is s negated by someone else's bad. I've had good experience from some cycle shops slammed here, and bad from some praised.

The way i see it the riders made the right decison, Burry could not finish on the borrowed bike as the rules state start and finish on same bike neither could he continue with busted wheel. Max would not have been able to fix the wheel without help from outside so rather than Burry get lumped with a DNF or 1 hour penalty Max took it on the chin. The penalty sucks though, would be interesting to hear who the complaining riders were, if indeed there were complaints.

As far as i know he's only had problems with punctures and totaled a wheel.

Too much admin, plus if the option witout medal is cheaper whats to prevent someone selecting it then still taking a medal at the end. Anyhow i feel we are moving away from the original point as goodie bags are not part of medals.

The route description on cylelab describes how to get to the start, not the actual race route.

Then the signage further up is also.

I've stopped taking medals my ride log will remind me i've done the race and in what time, but if riders want they should be entitled to it.
