  1. Dirty, I forgot to add smileys and winkeys in my post - I am chilled.
  2. I got black on mine, so I am probably biased. Juts don't go and put tinsel on it even though it is Christmas.
  3. Kansas, this is looking styling!
  4. Dirty Chick, Why bring the Road thingy into it? Not nice. The two pictures posted here are indeed a source of inspiration and wonderment at His work. I will be in Port Alfred this December - cannot wait to take my ROAD BIKE out for a ride. I might just be able to see something interesting?
  5. Kansas, I just noticed your signature. WHAT DID YOU SWALLOW? EDIT Sorry just saw your other thread now https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=67051 Can we call you Honey?Gasping2009-11-10 01:37:29
  6. Where did I say screw anybody? If I am not welcome, I leave. Even the Hub as a matter of fact. My mother did not raise a thick skinned person. Thick in the head is up for discussion though.
  7. Slave you are correct. I only have control over my actions ans as such I am entirely responsible for my actions and transgressions. It is the fault of that moron in the mirror. I am not being sarcastic or flippant (just to clear up this post in comparison to my normal posts). My issue is that the Cradle residents (represented here by a sum of one I think, but feel free to correct me) do not want cyclists in their "crib". There is no "Please can you sort this out" or anything like that. The thread is simply "Why you are not welcome in the cradle". There is nothing else other than "go away". Para, I understand your viewpoint as well. Me? I probably would not drive through the place. I don't go where I am not welcome.
  8. Morning Kansas, I am hoping that when they are finished with these highway improvements, there is still some tar and man-power left over to do the rest of the roads. I must be honest, you get a good workout dodging the gorges, dongas and crevasses instead of just riding in a straight line.
  9. Guys, we are not welcome there. Just don't go. Simple. We also, collectively, ride like a bunch of idiots. We have made our bed and now must lie on it. Find somewhere else, ride like decent human beings and maybe that will be the place where we are welcome. Who cares about the motivation for the photos, the title of the thread, emotive rantings and ravings. If I am not welcome, that is fine. Colour me gone.
  10. That is exactly why I never ride that road. I did once, and needed a kidney belt for support. I now use Atlas road - wide yellow line lane, smoother ride and fellow cyclists to wave to the whole way there and back.
  11. I bet if you "behave" you will not need to to worry about it. Why take the chance? I am not welcome along with the collective. Don't schmaak a tazer by some vigilante who thinks bad thoughts about me because I am on a bicycle.
  12. Never been there, so I will accede to their wishes. We do make our name mud at every chance don't we? I am not even going to get into a "we have rights" debate. If the inhabitants on The Cradle don't want me there, that's cool by me. Don't fancy a cattle-prod anywhere on my body......Gasping2009-11-09 05:19:46
  13. Maybe they were nails used to stop the mats from blowing up like at the Shova? Not trying to pick a fight or be flippant (there is a first time for everything), just wondering.
  14. Green wiff envy! May you have more downhills than uphills, May the puncture fairy be blinded by your bike's beauty, May the wind be always from behind and your speed be legendary. Enjoy it.
  15. Better to look at it as a "people problem" then. Welcome to the cycling community as opposed to the MTB community.
  16. Ha-ha. Point Road no more. Dit is nou Mahatma Gandhi drive! ... .and all?
  17. Sounds like fun. I will miss the 11th but see you two weeks later. Bunch of sissies. Passports, fear, pfffft!
  18. Strongs for a full and quick recovery.
  19. THAT is what running and being part of a club is all about.
  20. No-one is dissing the "sport of cycling" here,, they dissing the club,, so the club is being made responsible... Is the aim of any club not to promote their sport? How is this done? By swelling the number of members. How do we do this? By riding away new people. This makes them think that we are a super-fast club and our aloofness makes us irresistible. If the ride captain is told by the support car that there is a straggler and does nothing, then he is not a captain's backside. If the support vehicle just goes around the straggler and leaves them to their own devices, that is a direct result of the club's ethos. Therefore the club needs to be named and shamed. If there is nothing wrong with this behaviour, then like minded people will join them to experience the caring approach so vividly demonstrated.
