  1. Is there any chance you could send me the exact spec of the build. I see you can choose between 10mm and 12 mm rear hub??(Not sure what to do there? Thinking of going white with red....
  2. I see when ordering the hub they give an option of 28, 32 and 36h? What does that mean?
  3. Would you say this combination is pretty strong? Do you have apic of it? I must say not very clued up with wheels... I want a rim that can handle flying down rock hills and some steep drop offs.
  4. Good afternoon fellow hubbers. I am interested in changing my wheelset on my 2010 Giant Anthem X2. They come standard with Mavic XM 317 disc. I am planning to buy the American Classic All MTB wheelset, apparently a lot stronger. Anybody riding with this wheelset? Basically should I or shouldnt I and also where is the best price in SA
  5. Training is going well!! Need to send you the details of last week... As you know in week 3 now and I have only missed out on 2 days. over the last two weeks. So in theory this will be my first full 6 day week. Just to give feedback, I am really enjoying the training so far, and can real;ly feel some stength building up... Only problem I am finding is trying to keep my heart rate under 65% on average over a long ride. The last two long rides I tried to cycle slowly and the best I could really do was 78% avg...
  6. Hey SwartPiet, Hows everybody's training going going?
  7. Didnt even think of going further than that, maybe we should try and get a fund together from contributiions and approach a investigator?
  8. I think local bike stores should get together and hire an investigator to find out whats going on? Surely they can get support between each other to pay for this. In the long run it will be beneficail for all of them!
  9. Hi Guys, though I wold contibute... Something I took and then played around with
  10. cool, will give it a go tonight.
  11. Help any tricks or tips?
  12. Hi Guys, I did the same thing this weekend, took the tyres off did a solid clean and put tyres back on, bombed it and it set very well. Now after a week my front tyre is still inflated, but my back tyre deflated. It looks like the air came out of the side between the rim and tyre. Any advice to sort this out...
  13. Sounds good!!! Im going to be like a little 6 year old on the night before christmas waiting for Christmas day!!! Every vote counts I believe every person should vote. Choose the party which falls most inline with your believes and vote!
  14. Sorry guys- What time do the voting stations open. I want my vote to be the first nail in the coffin I cant wait
  15. Welcome to the Giant Anthem Family... Where do you ride, maybe will see you exploring with it? Actually I think we should start a thread.... GIANT 26ER R WELCOME
  16. Good Afternoon, Are you running tubeless? If I may ask weight?
  17. so.... I keep hearing about the spruit route! Where does it start and end , is it safe to ride yourself and level of Technicality ? Want to ride tomorrow at about 15:00?
  18. My friend and I go often to Groenkloof and you can ride both of them. You have to go into the nature reserve entrance and pay your $$$ and park where everyone usually parks, cruise around in the reserve, you can put a good 2 hour in there and then when you get back to the car park, cycle down the tar road in the reserve towards fountains and you will find a guard and a main gate, by the way keep your eyes open while cycling on the tar, there are some offroad routes to the left which you guys can join on and it does take you back to the tar. The guard will let you in, and basically go have fun in fountains. He will not let you in if you park in fountains and try to go to the reserve, tried that before and access was denied
  19. I also have a question, does everybody buy about 6 different tyres and changes them the night before predicting on how the ride will be the following morning Or are you guys deciding on tyres as general use? The other thing, if you chopping and changing all the time, dont you find it a mission with tubeless? All I can say is stay away from Monorail in mud, the front is super happy to wash out, I speak from recent experience
  20. Awesome will try and give it a go, I tend to always fall on the virgin route I really like the add on at the top of Zombie, nice tight turns and the jumps are pretty cool! What I do enjoy now just after the steep climb (which I managed for the first time yesterday ) they broken the route in two... Do you know where you can go for some basic tech skills, or am I doing it correctly; Fall and learn from it
  21. dont let this post put you off Giant, had my anthem X2 for just on a year and its gone through a lot and the only defect on it is me Giant is an excellent brand!!! Which one you looking at? Please tell me a 26er and not a 29er
  22. Ok, when you enter the park and cycle directly towards the highway, cycling on a dirt road with the high bridges on your ight and left. you will reach a T-Junction, turn left and before going under the highway, there is a bridge which you can cycle alongside the highway towards main road, you cycle for about 50 metres and the road turns to the left, just soon after that there is an entrance on the right to a black diamond. Saw a guy go on it yesterday and it looked pretty awesome!
  23. Nice, with those bridges you just need to get momentum and you will get up them quickly. I think I saw you yesterday where you with a friend? I was the guy on a blue giant. MTB is a huge confidence factor to it, to excel in it you will have to get a little fearless and put some faith in the equipment you have. You will be amazed what your bike can do! Man I just feel like riding again, theres a black route Im itching to try, but I only see downhill and trail bikes on it.
  24. What time where you there yesterday, I was there to.. The rain has made the park very interesting. The only way to hit those bridges is with pace and commitment, never think you going to fall and look ahead not at your front wheel! also all of them have a nice bend before them to create some momnetum. I hit them also at about 20-25km/h.(I stay in my middle chainring) The original thread I posted was about Zombie and I can officailly say I have claimed that hill!!!! I even jumped off and had a personal celebration Did you go have look after going under the highway?
  25. So where can I get the specific IDT tyre. I have had it on before and it never did it. But for some reason its doing it now, its as if its to tight against the rollers.
