Shot Capricorn! Ya, I have been mainly doing XC's. Got a Merida Mission 3000 but I am a little gravitationally challenged (big boned) and I tend to pass many riders on the downhills but going up they all pass me again. I have been looking at some of your guys' rides and I really dig the bikes that Giant is pumping out. Monggose Boot R is also quite sexy, what do you guys reckon to start with.......something that can take big knocks?

I am struggling getting to grips with the left pulling the front. Due to motorcycles as well. I would say go with what you have been using for the past ten years because it will take a while to break that habit.

The guys with longer cranks have to ride 3mm further per leg rotation. So lets say you ride 10km in 30 minutes @ 100rpm with 175mm cranks. You will on average ride 9 metres further than someone with 172mm cranks. Now there is enough bullsh*t to fertilize your spring gardens!

I worked in a game park in Hluhluwe and used to ride in the park itself. I had slime in my tyres and got a puncture in my front. I thought that the slime had failed me. When I took my tube out, I counted 28 thorns in the tube. So yes, I think slime does work!
