  1. Noooot. Why pack away over the weekend. That doubles up as the lighting on the Sokkie Jol.
  2. Thanks to everyone who attended and made it such a great day. A special applause to Michelle and Jokerman for going up Hekpoort after 90 kilos in the legs. Crux, can't thank you enough for all your time you invested and also all the slipping you supplied me to crawl back home. Pity I had to look into Spidey's face for most of the time, but it did make me feel bit stronger (seeing that the strength ... well ... she was not there). Had a great day and the results are awesome. Could feel the difference this morning gotting back on the bike.
  3. I have a new saddle for a couple of months now. Problem that I have noticed is that the bloomin thing in time does slide backwards (It should be set as much as possible forward for me). Now that could have and did have an impact on comfort in general. But the problem is, the moment I kick back to put some power in the pedals, I actually push myself off the saddle, hence get up and stand. If I stay seated then it feels I don't get to push down hard enough on the pedals. Maybe Michelle is on to something there. Maybe I must just training harder on my climbing again.
  4. What irretates me is that I used to climb with good rythm while sitting. All of a sudden I simply don't get rythm while sitting.
  5. I would like to here the general oppinion of you guys on this. When I started cycling I was told that it is better to sit while climbing. You tend to spend less energy. That is also what I used to do and I climbed not too badly sitting. But lately I am not confortable when sitting while climbing. I prefer to stand nowadays. What could the cause of this be? Maybe bike setup? Or should I not worry about this.
  6. Jokerman, you're in soooooo deep. She is gonna give you a route that will make the Jock look like a kiddies ride.
  7. Jason, don't forget about me dude. Will bring my own coffin.
  8. WW, tell you hubby he does not have to murder you. You might succeed in doing it yourself up Hekpoort
  9. 85% chance that I am in. What time do we start? Not too late please.
Ek sien myself as deel van groep twee. As ek na jou "posting" kyk, is my opinie soos volg: 1. 3. "Dit is jou eie skuld as jy verkeerd draai." Nie noodwendig nie. 4. "Wedrenne raak al hoe minder omdat mense wat dit re?l nie meer met julle klagtes opgeskeep wil sit nie" In my opinie word wedrenne minder omdat jy meer betaal maar standaarde word minder. 5. "Buitendien as jy so hot is kom re?l dit" Dit sit nie enige ou om n wedren te kan reel nie. Maar meeste van ons kan wel identifiseer as n wedren goed beplan en uitgevoer is of nie.
  11. Sorry, saw that ewep made a post just after one.
  12. Is Eweb still around (as far as I know he lives in that area). If not, ignore this post.
  13. no.one.knows .... you are so right. And that little girl would be my little Claudia I'm might be in for the TCS kit idea. Crux, keep me posted pls.
  14. Hope there is no age restriction. Mine is only 2 and a half. But she is like a daemon on that black thing.
  15. Sorry, trashed mine as well, but normally do scan those things spesifically for that type of info. Hang around for the 94.7. I am sure that info will be published again.
  16. Does anybody now where to enter kids in the 94.7 kiddies ride. Would like my daughter to have a go at it with her little 3 wheel indestructable black scooter . Had a look on the 94.7 website yesterday when I entered myself but not see anything.
  17. 94.7 and Argus normally publish those type of stats. Think normally it would be in something like the Bicycling mag that they throw in your little "goody/crappy bag"

    Commute

Angel, I live in P'town as well and commute to work almost everyday by "baie sukkel". Maybe we can team up. Been commuting in city centre traffic for 5 years now. Very little problems in general. Just every now and then you will have some "dikgat oomie" or "Philemon" in his bat mobiel that has a go at you, but you just need to be sharp and everything is alright. One should be sharp in anyway on SA roads, regardless of what you are traveling in or on.
  19. This race report was my laugh for the day. Really enjoyed it. Thanks Jason
  20. Ek dog Snapshot het ander reelings. Miskien het dinge verander.
  21. 85% kans dan dat ek julle more sal sien. Sal julle graag will join.
  22. Spinnekop, hoe lank en hoe vinnig beplan julle om te ry en wat is die beplande roete?
  23. Have not done the Lost City race recently, but they were very effective in controlling this using motorbikes. Why the other race organisers can't learn from this, I don't know.
  24. Cycled to work this morning, but only left at 08:00 or so. Was not that cold but the WIND!!! Eish. The only time the wind was not a problem was just before I got to work. Got into the slip of a truck and hammered it. Only problem was a broken water pipe up the road that I did not see, ended up getting a shower from the truck wheels that I was not bargaining on.
  25. I will be in Fishoek from the 25th to the 31 of August. Was wondering how many of you capies will be doing training rides in the Peninsula during that time. Would love to meet some of the Capetonian hubbers if possible (weather permitting). Let me know.
