  1. You aware of good bike shop(s) in Sabie, should you need to get something sorted on the bike...?
  2. Any recommendations / advice for riding your road bike from town to town / loops in this area? I notice 3 nice routes on Bikemap but without any comments... Anyone have experience on these routes... and anyone interested do some of these rides .. I would prefer not to do it solo....
  3. Beautiful bike.... I may have to reconsider ny views on E-Bikes... ????
  4. Keep my fingers crossed and say a prayer for her!!!
  5. I agree.... that will shut me up completely!
  6. Hehehe.... I am not certain it was me ... I don't ride trails... I am on a road bike... I rode through the Cradle on Friday morning did try to hang in with 3 lovely angels going up the ramp (little climb before the hill towards Bidon) to the Nedbank conference facility .. it was around 11:00 ... just before the climb we did pass a couple on blue e-bikes but i didn't chirp ... was to out of breath... fortunately I had to take a phone call and pulled out into the Netbank entrance ... it saved me as the 3 angels were dropping the omie! Enjoy your bike! Its all a lot of fun to get out in the fresh and now chilly air and do some riding... please ride safe!!!
  7. You should have bough one of these... so you can ride comfortably through the mud while you relaxing....and pretending you getting a workout...
  8. It does cost money to maintain your bike properly...what is expensive to one is not to another, so everyone to his / her own affordability... I do virtually all my riding in the Cradle on a road bike and I find my biggest expense is replacing tubeless tyres that get shredded by glass fragments from broken bottles in the yellow shoulder. I loose at least a tyre in a month, sometimes more than one... the more your ride, the higher your chances that you'll ride through glass... I have considered asking the coffee shops - Bidon etc.. - to start a campaign that we donate some change from the coffee we buy and hire / rent a street sweeper once or twice a month to wipe / sweep away the broken glass ... I tried to speak to someone at SAB to ask if they would not be prepared to increase the deposit on a glass bottle with the hope that those breaking them would rather consider returning them to the store for a refund...have not been able to get to the right person ... being shifted from pillar to post... not certain if they really care...? Maybe we should start a separate Topic on this and see if we can't muster enough support?
  9. I understand if you don't like talking to other riders ... its ok, we won't talk to you... just ride safe!
  10. It makes a lot of sense.... you can now ride together and you are not sensitive presenting a sensible answer ...!
  11. Enjoy riding your E-Bike! Whatever gets off the couch and takes into the fresh air! Please note I am not judging anyone who ride an E-Bilke ... it is entirely up to them ... I simply find their responses interesting when asking them how their batteries are doing... most of them are sssoooo sensitive and feel they need to defend themselves... not sure against what... the best response I have received was a rider responding by asking; "batteries are fine, how are your legs?"
  12. Thanks for the advice... I am as chill as a cucumber...the younger able bodied ones on the E-bikes are also welcome...
  13. Hehehe... I understand how you feel... I try to race those "beeldskone mooi dingetjie wat vir my more oom"... when I am able to, I enjoy catching up and when we start climbing the hill I look at her and say..."kom ry saam met die oom.." Have dropped many of them ....heheeee
  14. I am happy that you are out and about and cycling... enjoy riding your E-bike.... be safe!
  15. I finally found a shop that does good quality on your bike, Sprocket & Jack in Parkhurst ... the best service by FAR!!!
  16. Yes that could be correct... the ones did post the question appeared normal ... walk around at the coffee truck and seem physically normal... I have also seen really old people on E-bikes and I fully agree that it is a good option for them to ride ... but I will keep asking the question from the younger ones... ?
  17. You look WAY TOO YOUNG for an E-Bike!!!! I am 65 and get a kick out of chasing down younger (looking) riders on E-Bikes... Love their reaction when I get next to them and ask them: "How is your battery?".... I have had a wide range of responses... including being sworn at! I can't help asking myself what is the point ???
  18. Rode past the Sterkfontein Caves yesterday.. didn't notice anything.. any updates on what happened? Medical condition or crash?
