  1. I saw a pretty good summary of the current issues- trying to find it again ????Seems Kusile and Medupi (and the ANC-Guptas) are the biggest log breaking the camel’s back, but it includes dodgy coal deals (low grade coal, so wet sludge, jammed conveyor belts) besides the cock up of designs for Medupi and Kusile and the building delays. Which if I remember right also involved squabbles over catering and contracts. Will see if I can find that article but meanwhile there is this: https://www.fin24.com/Budget/how-medupi-and-kusile-are-sinking-south-africa-20191009
  2. No, what I meant was, the rot that went before had no one chirping about political interference etc. But now everyone expects 15+ years of bad decisions, greed and stupidity to be fixed over night. You may not like Gordhan, but he certainly knew how to set something up at SARS. I'm not wearing rose-tinted spectacles when it comes to Rama and co. They are what they are. Political interference is the first of our big problems. (Would you [or anyone you know] take the job of Eskom CEO right now???)
  3. She has a point. But I don't like her nails. More seriously, it boggles my brain that when there is a Minister like Gordhan trying to get things turned around you have someone on the board chirping. Why only now?
  4. Awesome to have an update thank you ???? hugs from afar for both of you.
  5. Anyone spoken to Cois? Hope you’re doing OK and the focus is on recovery.
  6. Looking forward to your next post Cois, it's been a long road for you to get to this point, that is an incredible achievement. All the best.
  7. Hello Cois, just keep on keeping on! Where your head goes is where the rest of your body goes, definitely!!
  8. Brilliant!!
  9. Please help I too am looking for this
  10. Awesome, looked totally at home on your hand! I’ve never had a bird (other than very temporary wild rescues) but would love one. You’ve got me thinking...
  11. Hugs Cois, big hugs. (PS that budgie looks right at home there...)
  12. Awwww puppy pictures!! And GSDs!! Sighhhhh.
  13. This.And I don’t believe it’s off topic either!
  14. It does feel like that... but I have a friend who has done battle with bladder cancer and let’s just say is living in balance with it now thanks to some amazing new treatment that uses theTB bacillus to get the immune system to attack the cancer. Through him I know of many other survivors. Just some days it does feel overwhelming.Nox never really had a chance because the diagnostics failed her. Which shouldn’t have happened. I feel there’s a GP out there who has some answering to do.Fortunately I don’t know who it is.
  15. I didn’t want to say anything earlier but maybe now is OK. I do want to share this. My friend Nox died a couple of weeks back. Cois your strength gave me the courage to see her and talk about what she was going through. Honour and thanks to you for that. Rather than what It would otherwise have been, my last memory of her is of a very long, long hug.
  16. This popped into view again today for me. Every time I read it I think, yeah, and then, there’s even less candy. It’s for all of us. MY SOUL HAS A HAT -- Mario de Andrade -- I counted my years and realized that I have less time to live by, than I have lived so far. I feel like a child who won a pack of candies: at first he ate them with pleasure but when he realized that there was little left, he began to taste them intensely. I have no time for endless meetings where the statutes, rules, procedures and internal regulations are discussed, knowing that nothing will be done. I no longer have the patience to stand absurd people who, despite their chronological age, have not grown up. My time is too short: I want the essence, my spirit is in a hurry. I do not have much candy in the package anymore. I want to live next to humans, very realistic people who know how to laugh at their mistakes and who are not inflated by their own triumphs and who take responsibility for their actions. In this way, human dignity is defended and we live in truth and honesty. It is the essentials that make life useful. I want to surround myself with people who know how to touch the hearts of those whom hard strokes of life have learned to grow with sweet touches of the soul. Yes, I'm in a hurry. I'm in a hurry to live with the intensity that only maturity can give. I do not intend to waste any of the remaining desserts. I am sure they will be exquisite, much more than those eaten so far. My goal is to reach the end satisfied and at peace with my loved ones and my conscience. We have two lives and the second begins when you realize you only have one.
  17. Brilliant! Cycling and... dark chocolate FTW. This post has made me sooo happy ????????????
  18. Keep me in the loop on that one please, I may need to go that route too... also trying to balance the budget here with work-arounds and available parts ????????
  19. Can say that. It's been a long time for me and now I have a little cash we can all see where it's going If the work keeps coming it's possible I could single-handedly rescue the industry as all my stuff is now considered vintage....
  20. Thanks, super-chuffed as it's a while since my bike got a present Have just opened the box... so here goes
