  1. Don't everybody have e-tv?
  2. I'll bring my Chinadale
  3. "Several eastern companies offer unbranded frames, many at too-good-to-be-true prices. While it's sometimes true that these are often 'made in the same factory as a Wilier', the quality may be vastly different. Essentially, without a trusted brand's strict lay-up procedures and quality control, it's a lottery. There are several frames available that look almost identical to Pinarello Dogma, for instance. However, each is likely to be completely different under the finishing layer of carbon and paint. We've seen frames that on the outside looked rather like the front end of a Cube, and the rear of a Scott, but on the inside showed sure signs that cheaper fibreglass had been used in the construction in place of carbon fibre. Many hope to get lucky and find an over-order of a well-regarded Swiss, British or Italian brand, but don't count on it. Besides, is it really worth the risk?" Quoted from Bicycling magazine, Nov '2012.
  4. Don't be fooled. The 100 km is very tough, and montague is the easy part of the climb.. There is still duiwelsnek, bergplaas and the seven passes which makes this a killer. Nothing similiar to the easier old 2 day route
  5. Great looking machine. What is the width of your hadlebar?
  6. Wow awesome contribution, many thanks Robox. And i guess hadlebar width is just a personal preference? What do the commuters prefer?
  7. Do you guys use different stem and handlebar lengths on the mtb's for commuting on tar?
  8. I am also thinking of putting tgether a SS and using it for Argus and commuting on tar roads mainly. Woud like some suggestions from the SS guys on the ideal stem and handlbar length for a bike to be used on tar. I am 1.83 and ride a large 29er
  9. Wtf 3 inches? So you size your bike to prevent bangkok? Also need beer
  10. Huh?? No mate sorry gotta disagree. read post 3 above again
  11. Yes. And less control.. the consequense is obvious
  12. Correct.
  13. Happened to me once.. Use Coke to clean the oil off the pads, should do the trick
  14. What is this about?
  15. Erica Green (Daisyway coaching) and her hubby Spook in Somerset West for a proper professional setup. Costs about R650
  16. I agree with cobuswes on this one. Check out the sciatic nerve.. Your problem might be in the back, causing stress on the nerve and resulting in leg pain. I've just had similar issue for past 6 months and going for surgery next week to fix the disc in lower back pressing the nerve. Hopefully surgery not required in your case but rather make 100% sure with MRI scan. Good luck
  17. Thanks for all the comments and informative feedback from everyone on this thread, much appreciated. Blitzer I guess you hit the nail right on the head here.. Unfortunately I've already got the symptoms of drop foot and weak leg that being the main reason the Neuro and Orthopedic recommended (actually advised) surgery. Seems like I am on the right track then. Good thing is life can return to normal again after the op, possibly just swop for a soft tail again. Thanks guys.
  18. Thanks Ysterperd. Mine is also a case of surgery unavoidable..
  19. What is neurological fallout? My pain is almost unbearable especially when I sit, doc says the prolapse is too severe to recover naturally and too much pressure on the nerve causing the pain and numbness in left leg and foot.
  20. I'm 1.83m and weigh 92kg, so no not really. Weighed 89 at Epic and felt good. Could probably loose 2-3kgs
  21. Thx for the feedback slick. No specific injury I know of.. I'm going for the surgery (discectomy) next week, and will be out for 2 months.. At least we can still ride
  22. When i eventually had the set up corrected by Spook from Erica Green, he made quite a lot of changes, albeit small changes. Ja well even I'm a bit unsure now as to what the cause was but it certainly started (the pain and discomfort) after I got the new bike, almost to the day. Since then it got worse until this weekend when it became unbearable and almost impossible to sit..
