  1. According to all the research I have done, Spoke101 is correct in saying that there is no duties on electronics and should be paying around R6500 with shipping for the Fenix 3 imported from the UK (dependent on exchange rate on the day of purchase and if Zuma says a speech). Here in South Africa the cheapest I can find the same watch is R7400 (according to the price check) which is a saving of R900 (worth it in my opinion). Also just phone Garmin and a warranty is valid irrespective of where the item was purchased as long as you have proof of purchase.
  2. Hi guys I know this post is quite old but I just wanted to ask how much the fees would be on a Garmin Fenix 3? Does this fall under Cycling Electronics or will it be classed as a watch which has other fees. Reason I ask is because Evans Cycles in the UK have the watch for R5350 where as locally I will be paying upwards of R8k for a new one. https://www.evanscycles.com/garmin-fenix-3-EV242438#/modal__international-delivery-modal Thanks
  3. I think that a sport should be set up to shot these b@st@rds. They really are the scum of this planet.
  4. Thanks will send the email now to be added, will join the next one. Hopefully I can get near my coach that, from what I understand, managed to get the highest distance in this race on Saturday.
  5. is this event going to be a yearly event? or is there going to be another one later in the year? would really like to give it a try
  6. I do Pain Cave in Benoni, (probably a similar activity to the ones you do). At Pain Cave they email and email after the activity with all the detail of the session and a tcx file. In Garmin Connect you can upload a ride using that TCX file.
  7. Would really like to do this, but won't be able to due to the Emporers races that weekend...
  8. yup thats correct, it should be fairly easy from there side to do.
  9. As kind of an IT guru, this information is recorded in the database, however its not a field\property that is sent to the a third party system like Vitality. This is Something that Strava will have to change on there side in the responses in order for Vitality to recognize Strava again.
  10. Why doesn't Discovery check to see if there is GPS activity during the exercise when receiving data from Strava, at least then they will be able to confirm that the person did the activity instead of just pretending by manually creating a ride. I agree with the points change as many do on this thread, I just think that they should have gone back to a similar points system to the one they had last year. For someone like me, I struggle getting my heart rate to 80 % let alone trying to maintain it there for extended periods of time, so I will always only get a maximum of 300 per ride... Also should Discovery only work for certain devices then Discovery should sell those devices at a discounted rate dependent on your status (silver, gold, diamond etc). this would then be similar to what Momentum is offering.
