  1. @bikehubber #scottsportsafrica #maxxistyresSA #bikehubber Guy's i need some new rubber for a x-mas gift from you amazing people at the hub so i can compete in some events next year!
  2. Where can i get hold of these Imbi's?
  3. Oh well ... didn't have a chip but Starva timing (not official) put me in the top ten then so I'm happy with that.
  4. Thanks Gerald. Another quick question, if I didn't have a Racetec chip for the event will my result show as a random number for my name?
  5. Maybe somebody has asked this already but I saw a few photographers on the MTB race taking photos and wondering where I could go and take a look at them?
  6. Great event this morning! Was my first and will definitely not be my last. On another note when do you think the official times will be posted as i'm i don't have a race chip? Thanks again Gerald and the team
  7. I've seen a few MIPS helmets at Cyclelab over the past few months. It seems more and more are becoming available.
  8. What about the Fox Metah helmet? I purchased one about 6 months ago and loving it
  9. At that price range you have quite a few options. New is always good because of the warranty but there are some really awesome second hand bikes on the hub. If new is your choice don't forget about the Giant Anthem. See link below http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/giant-anthem-x-1-29er-2016
  10. I'm 82kg and ride the following: Offroad: 2.0bar front 1.8bar rear Road: 2.2bar front 2.0bar rear Also remember to lockout your suspension on the road
  11. Cyclelab don't have many in their online range but the most expensive is R150..... siggggghhh
  12. I have a few pairs of them and they perform as good as a sock should :-)

  14. As Bloukrans said, open the box and it's not what you paid for, then just send it back. It's quite a simple exercise. But anyway good luck with whichever way this issue turns out
  15. Try Red Barn. They have rental bikes
  16. Your budget is really tight. As the others have mentioned, rather save up a bit more because you will also need riding gear (Helmut, Baggies, etc.).
  17. Wayne got back to me about the new rims and going to give them a try!
  18. Good question... Just gathering advice and information, comparing wheelsets before I make a decision
  19. I spotted these on CWC which are a little more than i'd like to spend but have no idea on the quality? http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/shimano-xt-m785-29er-wheelset
  20. Hi All, I know there are a few threads going around regarding wheelsets but I would like a bit of info before making an upgrade purchase for myself. I'm looking for advice on the best budget combination with regards to hubs and rims for my wheelset upgrade. I have roughly R5K to spend and in that doesn't have to include new wheels (My Maxxis Ikon's are still 60% wear left). What are the recommendations when it comes to hub choice as well as rims (including number of spokes etc.)? Is weight the deciding factor or durability? My usual style of riding is single track cross country with some jeep track in between. Also is a new wheel set the most sensible upgrade or would upgrading my drivetrain be a better option. I am currently riding a 2016 Merida Big Nine 500 (stock standard). All feedback is greatly appreciated.
  21. If your choice is purely on brand then Merida would be the way to go.
  22. Don't limit yourself to those 2 brands as there are many on the market (second hand my preference) which can be better value. There is a GT on the Hub going for R5500. Maybe worth checking it out.
