  1. Epinephrine (adrenalin) and ephedrine are not the same thing. The junior must have been referring to ephedrine. Ephedrine have been used as a (banned) performance enhancer for many years. I doubt that anyone would be stupid enough to use adrenalin - more likely to kill you than enhance performance.
  2. No need to look anywhere else than this masterpiece....got mine last week!
  3. I need some advise on how to adjust the forward/rear angle of the seat on a Cannondale Flash (SAVE seatpost). Any help would be much appreciated.
  4. Sounds like negligence to me...
  5. No. Use time not distance - but then again you probably knew the answer even before you posted.

    Stans/Joe's

Don't think it's the temperature. Are you using non-UST tires? I have found when they become old/worn the don't seal. Are you sure you have enough sealant in the tires?
  7. Naas, I fear your solution is not a positive thread, it's PROZAC.
  8. Oven cleaner on a bike chain is bad news. I have used it before - very corrosive! Made my chain look like an old rusted chain in no time. Boiling water, sunlight liquid and a chain cleaner will clean any dirty chain.
  9. My 110km result is also incorrect, although only by one position on spectrum sport results. What is a bit of a bigger problem is the fact that my mtncycling result (seeding) has me down as doing the 70km race. I have emailed spectrum sport and have been assured the results will be fixed. For me personally results are important. I train hard and race hard, and get a large part of my enjoyment from being competitive. I understand and agree that results aren't important to everyone, but don't crucify the dude for pointing out errors in the results.
  10. If cleaning the rotor doesn't solve your problem, take the bike back to the LBS and ask them to check that the pistons inside the rear caliper aren't stuck
  11. Same problem here...placed order on 27th. Status still says "left country of origin" for 2 days now. Hopefully here tomorrow...
  12. Miskien moet ek my hubnaam na "Krokodil" verander?
  14. I have been using Crossmarks for the last year. I ride 6 times a week - never had a sidewall cut. Pretty much rode them without any problems
  15. What a joke! Can't understand the logic - you will happily pay a hairdresser 1000 bucks every month to make your hair look nice, but b*tch and moan when someone gives you much needed (at times life saving) care. Not to mention the fact that this person probably spent 10y studying. In my opinion medical aid rates are a slap in the face of doctors
  16. No. Hospitals are not "sterile". No matter how clean a hospital, not only are bacteria ALWAYS a part of normal healthy skin, but it is present in the (clean) air around us. As is the case with most of the comments in this thread, I suggest you stick to INFORMED comments when slating those that dedicate their lives helping your sorry a#ses when YOU GO TO THEM for help.
  17. Don't understand what all the fuss is about. I find Bicycling mag to be the best local cycling read. The mag may be skinny, but it has more worthwhile articles than ride. Ride tends to have too many of those boring race reports. Being mainly interested in XC and marathon related articles, I find Tread mag pretty disappointing - seems to be aimed more at th DH crowd, too expensive. Despite my gripes, I still buy every issue of all three mags.
  18. Race with the fastest avg speed:Fast One Toughest race : Magalies Monster Most fun: Telkom Satellite Classic by far! Never-miss-this-one: Telkom Satellite Classic Race you are guaranteed to fall: Magalies Monster Race with the highest top speed achieved : unsure Worst race: MTN Blockhouse 110km
  19. Often mtb races consist of 2 laps of the same route.
  20. Ipods don't belong in any form of cycling races. Not only are you p!ssing off the riders trying to pass you (ever notice how its only the slow guys that wear ipods?), you are compromising your, and more importantly fellow riders' safety.

    Dogs

On my daily mtb cycling route I ride through parks where I often encounter dogs, who are'nt on a leash, accompanied by their owners. When approaching the dogs I make an effort to slow down and avoid them. Despite my efforts, some of the dogs will charge towards me. In the past one of these dogs has run into my front wheel, causing me to fall and damage my bike (the dog came out unscathed). Should this happen again, would I have any legal recourse against the owner, or would I perhaps be the one to be, legally speaking, in the wrong? Any comments appreciated.
  22. Although I do not condone cyclists taking up all of the road or transgressing any traffic rules, a few points needs to be made. I have been cycling this route for over 10 years now, always in groups of 4 or less. The only time that the cradle has this many cyclists are on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 7 to 11, mainly for the months leading up the 94.7 and Argus cycle races. Surely local motorists could bare the inconvenience for these limited times, especially considering the fact that all cyclists have the right to use these roads, governed by essentially the same laws as other motor vehicles. Bare in mind that these cyclists are not guests that require your welcome - they have just as much a right to use these roads as any motor vehicles.
