  1. I have had very nice rides along the beach from Diasstrand to Vleesbaai.Must do it at low tide though but beautiful hard undertire riding.Very flat beach.Approx 1 hour at leasurely pace. Beachfront road from Gouritz through Rens? now open after court case and great ride to Stilbaai.
  2. See cutoff is only at 6 due to wind having come up and impacting on backmarkers.
  3. Today is the day...Seems to be snowing at finish?
  4. Brilliant coverage on Supersport.
  5. Hi Louis Have you spoken to the guy who gave it 2 stars?....He is bringing your average down and must have misread your question?? How are the trails standing up to more riders using it and what happened to the gopro footage of the whole trail??
  6. Or another type of tyre.Had mine replaced at no cost.
  7. Apparently you ride down to viewpoint 2,and do not continue with existing single track at that downturn point.Down at the viewpoint a new single has been cut to your left. This new single links up with existing single mentioned above just where it enters the first terrace.Scorpion alley potential name...
  8. Hi Louis I see their event finishes at 13h00.I assume it will be OK to come and ride in the afternoon? (Big UP! to the second cave that was found.Any footage of it??)
  9. Good idea The fun factor of the route grows exponentially as you get to know it better. We are a large group of riders coming through to ride the new route on Sunday. Weather looking good!
  10. With the new single track section up to lookout point 1 the total riding time for the Shiraz(long)route is now close on 20km.Where the red arrow near top of google road indicates left turn onto Shiraz singletrack with also a sign straight on to nature reserve, you can actually continue for a further 500m up google road towards reserve as an add-on to the Shiraz singletrack. After this approx 500m there is a singletrack turnoff to your right (marked as left turn for riders approaching trails from reserve side). This leads into a 600m downhill single track linking up with Shiraz single track from the right at red arrow referred to above. This extended Shiraz trail should give you a very interesting total 90-120minute ride from start in carpark at Rheboks to finish at carpark at Rheboks.
  11. Hi Louis Is it open yet?I hear they have a section through a cave on the new route??
  12. Hi Albert Check out the Rhebokskloof discussion topic under this Routes and Trails topic. When you are out there also check out Welvanspas. Both in the Paarl/Wellington area.
  13. Hi Does anyone know what is happening with the R50 000 PPA allocation for extension to the existing routes??
  14. Also google Welvanspas and Rhebokskloof.Wellington and Paarl respectively.Cult status allready.. Close by and definately top 10 in Country....
  15. Rhebokskloof.
  16. Hi By chance I came upon the www.mtbroutes.co.za website. Is it a wellknown website and often used by Hubbers and others from the mtb fraternity? It seems quite comprehensive?...Are there also other sites like this?
  17. I think youtube clip tells you everything, except you can multiply it by 10?..
  18. Does anyone know if Rhebokskloof did receive PPA funding for extension of their trails? Can you imagine them upping the single track distance to 20-odd km??
  19. What are your sentiments about the availability of shower facilities at mtb trails? Is it a "must have" or a "nice to have"? Will the absence of such a facility prevent you from riding a trail?
  20. Van Rensburg MTN DNF yesterday??
