  1. Nothing but admiration for you lot. Swimming just seems so foreign, or at least a long time ago for me before the demise of my rotator cuffs. Wish I could, but instead, I'll live vicariously through y'all!
  2. Jeez, those wheels give it a real stealth, hover-bike, lustful look! Distinctly jealous! Congrats!!
  3. Quite some time ago I decided, that when I use my saddlebag, I wanted the reflective strip beefed up. Standard reflective tape from Builders. So far, so good....
  4. Did the bike leg of the Tri Team Relay with some mates and much fun was had. Professionally organised and very friendly attitude towards complete Tri- newbies. A very flattering feeling charging past du- and triathletes who were largely more conservative in their pacing than a one-shot johnnie such as myself . Definitely recommended for the laugh, if nothing else, especially with my disco-legs from trying to jog into the transition area after the ride. I should know better by now......
  5. It might be considered 'uncool', but one of those hi-viz mesh vests, from Builders, would fit over/under your windbreaker. It has a couple of reflective strips on it too....
  6. I suppose if the Slate, amongst others, had some bounce up front, then why not? (Yes, the gap between a MTB and a gravel bike with one of these is becoming narrower.....) http://www.bicycling.com/bikes-gear/the-gravel-riding-crowd-gets-a-dedicated-fox-suspension-fork
  7. Now that would upset any officious CSA-type who would try and exclude your traditional MTB-barred gravel-grinder, for having drop bars!
  8. So the OP was last online in Sept 2014, so I guess one would have to try and contact him via another media?
  9. N+1 runs deep in this young Jedi.........
  10. It does sound like your knee-forward-of-foot parameter will be different between the 2 bikes. This value is often related to knee pain. I'd suggest a bike fit on both bikes to translate the fit on the 'good' bike onto the 'bad' one, although, as you suggest, you may be limited with your saddle fore-and-aft. I don't know if there's scope to swop the cranks over to try and negate the knee-F-O-F movement? That may cause problems for both bikes of course, so solicit advice from a competent bike fitter perhaps? Good luck.
  11. Same seat tube angle on both bikes? Anything else different between the 2 bikes, their set-ups, or shoes you use between them?
  12. Easter egg run for the locals around Kromdraai café, amongst other places? Chapeau!!
  13. Nothing explicitly prohibiting CX, not monster-cross, bikes in the rules (https://www.c2tmtb.co.za/race-rules), nor compliance to CSA rules, which would catch the drop bar rule. But they've the usual catch-all of the Race Director's ruling is final.
  14. Probably is....Weedelicious! PS Has that CX bike of yours seen gravel yet? (Now that Swartberg prep has been denied.)
  15. Wait for the DVD...aah?
  16. Wait for the DVD...aah?
  17. Double post...
  18. Engage the appropriate font..........
  19. Has anyone got any experience of the Team Road event? Or even some experiences of tris at this venue? Thinking of doing the Road Team event with some mates but we're all tri-virgins, so would appreciate some appropriate comments about what to expect? Transition areas, road to/from Beyers, expected water temperature at end of April - wetsuit? General comments? Thanking you in advance!
  20. A shared pastime (obsession!)................
  21. You're such a voyeur......
  22. That would be some tandem......
  23. And previous head wound as well - Darwin in action......
