  1. Hey it was a toss up between that one and: "bugger!"tarboy2009-09-18 13:08:53
  2. If you read it wrong it'll get your back up. Maybe it was meant to be ambiguous LOL Maybe I meant she is royalty. Its cheeky!the frame that is! Whats your inspiration and what are the numbers?
  3. Float like a butterfly sting like a queen
  4. Where did it break? on the tapered pin or on the thread. I'm guessing that it broke on the tapering pin (True/False)and thats what I didn't like about them when I looked at them, because it looked so thin.
  5. I'm experiencing a BIANCHI FEVER at the moment in the line of Bianchi's, this on ebay at the moment. Its hot and pricy. The rear derailing mechanism is real interesting. Its Campy. You have to loosen the wheel release and shift the chain while in motion. The wheel then shifts in the dropout to recover chain tension. Unreal! Also dig the little steel clip to keep the wheel clean. and the cranks...wow these are gorgeous.
  6. Its an oldish headset which I've put on. Its a bit scratched on the one side, as indicated. I though it looked better than the Tange headset it came with. You also need a 5 pin ring tool to loosen her.
  7. BIANCHI REPARTO CORSE, Campione del Mondo Beautiful Stronglite headset cBB > top ST = 54,5cm TT = 51cm Chrome PERFECT Columbus TSX Ultralight. All original. Incl's seat post, quill. very small paint chip defects indicated. R1300tarboy2009-09-18 12:09:17
  8. I dunno how to feel about this either. Who drilled it? Is the fork drilled too? What are your plans with this bike? Highlight:Which area are you in? CY = If you sell, what are you thinking of?
  9. All dura ace... I dunno how to feel about that!
  10. obviously none of you were at the firesale
  11. Why the f is there Shimano on that Colnago???
  12. valid for both materials? I have a 32teeth hacksaw blade. Is this OK or must I find something finer?
  13. I have done a forum search key words: cut + steerer = zero so, I would like cut steerers...both kinds: composite and full C To avoid disasterous trial and error I must ask: hacksaw and file?
  14. Yup I saw that fork at the sale. It was priced at 6K !! I thought to myself: " Jees this must be a special fork. What makes it so special?" The guy standing next to me told me its one of those new 'high flex' carbon forks. He showed me how you can squeeze it, until the dropouts touched. Amazing!! So if its this one, I would say you scored a huge bargain and should have no worries. Sounds like it could be a risky fork. You probably paid 120-160, so no biggie. win some lose some. tarboy2009-09-17 02:44:05
  15. You'll keep guessing whether its in the structure or just in the duco until you take to it with the sandpaper. IMO you'll have to strip to find the truth and if OK then respray. Byebye Bianchi label! Was this purchased at the sale?
  16. Did the two "victims" take legal action? Surely this should have been taken further by both of them. It has been mentioned previously on this thread that there are several charges that could be pursued. Why have they not been pursued by parties immediate. PLEASE Let hubbers not stoop to pedantic interference and give cycling/ists a bad name. Legal recourse I'm sure would stem the apparent bad attitude of this gentleman. They (the victims)are as guilty for this situation reaching this point as is this gentleman.
  17. My concern is: what is the LBS going to do? Unusual problems require unusual remedies. If the LBS says that they will try but take no responsibilty; then I would rather be the one that ends up breaking something myself. I would ask them what their step by step plan of attack is going to be before they start. Before any violent action is suggested regarding hammers: maybe drill it out till you can peel it off the thread wall (requires engineering shop). try some thermal input with a quick weld in the center far from frame and thread to get some expansion and chase with pen lube. Just a suggestion for what its worth.
  18. The change from 172,5 to 175 made a big diff to me. I rode 172,5 in the beginning because I was clueless. Thats a 5mm change in total, my experience was awesome especially on the climbs. Might be room for the argument that its all between the ears. The 180's made a huge difference, which dealt a blow to that argument. I experienced a huge diff on this additional 10mm in total. Velo the diff = 200 Just have to remember to have the cranks horizontal when going over any small speed bumps.
  19. I am 1,97 this is my pref:
  20. I have a feeling that a tale about a bad experience is about to follow. Which part of CTN are you from?
  21. Original purchase price minus 50 -60% is always a good price to start.
