  1. Any more input this fine Monday morning??
  2. Just a question ... On the R59 highway passing Alberton heading south- I have seen a number of cyclists riding in the yellow line. Now I have always thought you cannot cycle on a highway? But my question is - does the law apply to the N & M numbered roads (ie; N1 or M2) or all highways?
  3. So if I understand this right; You didn't check the frame when you received it- especially knowing it was a second hand carbon mtb...and a bike shop built it up for you and 6 weeks later you want to complain about a crack in the frame??? And when the seller doesn't come to your rescue it's him being in the wrong... Somehow I think that's rather unfair of you... On a lighter note - you got the frame for a bargain price- just get the crack repaired. It should be more than R1500. I have had one of my GT Zaskar carbon frames repaired and it's been perfect ever since
  4. So sad- I thought about it on the whole drive back today. Our thoughts are with their families...I hope they know that they just had the best three days riding possible...
  5. Tough decision??? Not so much... You made the right call!!
  6. Oh no!!! I ride an Sworks and might be in the area this weekend... Please don't beat me up
  7. If it is a leash free area then city parks should put some signs up. The more awareness there is the better. It will also lead to less animostity... And in the same respect the general cyclist should learn that we don't have exclusive rights to the trails we ride...
  8. Fair enough- but dogs should be on leads. I'm not at all justifying the general behavior of the cyclists- but when I've had problems with walkers it has been because their dogs are off the lead and either in the path or running towards / around us...
  9. I think it is a great starting point-- when a tool needs to be replaced then buy a better quality version of said tool... @R499 I'm not sure how it rates compared to other "cheap" versions??
  10. You're right...she is a keeper Only problem is she has now set the bar pretty high... Been getting prices on a suitable matching ring. Quite an eye opener!!
  11. I have a Bell & Ross WW1 watch... http://www.dkwatch.org/news/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/33312.jpg My now fiance gave me the watch when she asked me to marry her on the 29th Feb this year...She blind sided me - I didn't have a clue...
  12. Good luck- I am envious...It'll have to be on my list of rides to do!! Enjoy!!!!!
  13. Interesting!! Roughly how much will the whole package set you back?
  14. Procycles That's the one!! - don't go anywhere else....
  15. I forget the name- maybe someone here knows...but there is a bike shop in the eastrand. They are very close to Tom jones off ramp on the N12 . I had my carbon mtb repaired there- it was a superb job, I thrash my bike around and not once have I worried about the repair not being up to the pounding... They also touched the paint work up - it looked just about new!! And they were decently priced.. What else could you want??? Except the name of course
  16. Splendid!!! But where can like the shop to be????
  17. Trails are waterlogged today - no ride tonight...
  18. The ride starts at 18:00, but if you are there earlier then just join us after you've warmed up... We usually ride the green route, and throw in a bit of blue every so often. We also quite often ride in the opposite direction to the normal trails which is a nice change. The pace would usually be classed as medium - depending on who is there...
  19. Sounds good - I should be there...
  20. +1 Seems they are making a bit of money from prepaid no shows this weekend...
  21. I wonder how the motorbike rider is & who is going to pay for his bike to be repaired if it is not insured??
  22. Hey Luke There will almost certainly be a ride this coming Thursday - only a JHB thunderstorm can change the plans...
  23. I have entered and paid- but there is no way I'm going to start a race at 11:45 in summer in PTA... I rode out there today and it was swelteringly hot by 09:30... Now we are supposed to race @ 95%+ hr starting at midday??? Anyone feel the same?
  24. Hey Hubbers There is the usual night ride this Thursday at Rietvlei- usually one or two groups get formed to cater for the different rider levels... Starts @ 18:00 until about 20:00 which is great in summer 'cos it only gets dark at 19:30ish.
