  1. Best stage of the tour so far! What a ride from Wout.
  2. As Dan L said .... Ven2
  3. It was a good race with Sarrou. I think Alan is one of our best hopes for a medal in Tokyo
  4. Podg looks the business!
  5. Love a TT ... as a fan
  6. Okay the lad Cav won a stage and is in the green jersey. And England beat Germany 2 nil. Can we move on?
  7. Looks to me like Caleb front wheel was kicked out like it did because it was overlapping Merlier's back wheel (to rhs from the back) and when Tim kicked (as in pic 2 above) his bike tilted to the right and it knocked Caleb's front wheel, and there was a gyroscopic reaction, as we see. Racing accident.
  8. How many times has Caleb Ew been relegated?
  9. I think Ewan is the best sprinter in this race, by far.
  10. Don't forget Woutkop for the sprints (I assume he is riding and recovered from his appendix drama)
  11. Vamos Richi!
  12. Also he wouldn't want to spoil Chris' party as the ISN Road Captain
  13. When the plan for the Anglo Saxons heads south ..... One thing Carapaz has is (besides talent and ability) is tenacity.
  14. Ditto - given that he has been super-helpful in pulling the train / leaders across the flats and up the hills, one would have thought he would be indispensable, but apparently not... how much that move has to do with it, who knows, but there is a history of guys not getting places if deals with other teams have been made (ie Calib)
  15. I'm sure they have taken the jab, but still ... Seems to have a new gf, the curly haired mountain biker no more.
  16. And he is off to see the Pope today nogal, taking a special gift from all Colombians.
  17. Chris Froome for ISN Road Captain
  18. XCO is like so full-on, it seems to me that there is a peak during your twenty-somethings and then its downhill, think about moving to the marathon races. Although with the ladies the longevity seems to be longer ie GRD. Sort of the same thing with sprinters on the road. Age is the enemy and its inevitable.
  19. Durbs is more of an apt comparison in terms of summer heat and humidity. Also its typhoon season that time of the year (often super typhoons) which build up in the equatorial Pacific and spin up storm heading west, often take a turn up due north towards Japan. Generally this means lots and lots of rain.
  20. July/August in Tokyo/most of Japan is seriously hot and very humid (90%+)- athletes are going to suffer!
  21. Ditto, or employ people with some appropriate second language skills, but lets face it, the bar is low. I also find the formulaic questions asked as cringe worthy.
  22. Incredible .. can she keep her form? Amazing thing is that it seems effortless for her, leading by over a minute most of the time.
  23. So I can't have a moan about what a stuff up the vaccine rollout program is? Where else can I go damit.
  24. Okay I see what is happening . 'off topic' threads don't come up in the active list, one has to dig deep.
  25. Found this doccie quite good. Posting with it starting with the Comet landing at Jhb after its first trip, Suikerbosrand can be seen in the distance. Link to cycling so not totally off-topic.
