  2. Watching last years race last night, i wonder what Peter could have done differently to avoid getting pipped at the post by the hangers-on? Get away by himself? Almost impossible if you are so well marked, Fabio had the same problem
  3. Does Grobert the Younger ride u23?
  4. Is she still on the team with her?
  5. I've re-watched both races now several times from RBTV, and besides the fantastic racing, the most astounding thing is Rob Walnut does not mention wheel size AT ALL. Dropper posts, yes, but no mention of 29er, 27.5 or even 26". Not once! a new era in his commentating, Although I would think he could have given Rhodesia a mention being in these parts. Awesome video production btw, was it a local production house that did the business?
  6. She gradually worked her way up the field, but that acceleration in the last 100m was spectacular. She is still in C Town, according to her 'gram, at the Tsogo Sun now. Great to have her on Team Cannondale.
  7. And then there is twitch as well .....
  8. Stars & Stripes of the USA National Champ She is also on some elite programme with USA Cycling
  9. She has graduated already
  10. Although Mev Venter made the point that Annika always does well at the first round because she needs to be in top shape for the Epic, and as we have seen she generally does less well there after, but we will see...
  11. My goto hardware store: MegaMica in Eastgate is having a Ryobi sale at the moment, if you are so inclined http://www.mica.co.za/promo/digital_mag/2018/feb/mega-mica-eastgate/
  12. Not really, you can buy tool only, but we are out in the sticks.
  13. All of those are available in cordless with interchangeable batteries, if you pick ur brand carefully
  14. Most of the tools one finds at Makro /Builders are DIY grade. that is not really built for a heavy duty cycle. ie Ryobi, Bosch Green. If you want decent work-horse power tools then its Bosch Blue, Makita, etc Then there is top of the line silly-expensive kit like Festool Cordless tech has come of age, but batteries are not interchangeable between brands, and you don't want to deal with different chargers, so its a given to decide on a platform. I've gone with Makita, and really pleased with those products and have got quite a few that take their 18V Batteries. I also have a smaller Bosch Blue 12V, which has the battery in its pistol grips. Plus there are loads of other types of drills.for example for Conrete/ Brick drilling and chipping, there is the SDS + system. And a regular AC powered drills as well.
  15. Imagine having this facility downtown
  16. This is what i got in recently Unit looks / feels legit with serial nos and product labelling
  17. I've been buying off ebay since the get-go, been caught once or twice, but generally wised up to the schemers plus they have a good rating system and most importantly the buyer protection scheme.
  18. I am sourcing from listed dealers in the US, and according to the samples I have got are the real deal. I have approached the importers of the brand here to try to source for retail since its a product range I really believe in, but they re not interested and keeping it all cosy with the traditional channel, ridiculous pricing (sounds familiar?), especially with anything labelled 'brushless' Also their product range is pathetic and out of date compared to what's out there. They need a wake-up call. Big Time. But you are right, perhaps it not worth the risk of it going Pete Tong & I best keep these goodies to myself and people who have personal contact with me. I actually buy for my own use, been upgrading my old tools since I use them everyday but I do retail of electronics and IT stuff as well, a lot of which I bring in myself.
  19. FYI: for Makita 18v power tools aficionados, I have started sourcing deals off e-bay in the USA and bringing them in for resale here. Some very decent tools, like the latest brushless and compact drills etc, at reasonable deals! prices here are just silly. Then you can buy chargers and batteries of ur choice here, good place is Adendof. Most are brand new, and of course there is a bit of risk / unknown factor but I do test them and supply in good faith. I will be putting up an paid ad shortly in the classifieds, I have two brushless beauts in stock, and more on order.
  20. I'm loosing interest in coming down, too much frigging drama all around.
  21. Tail winds become head winds and vice versa, especially after turning the corner from False Baai
