  1. OK, lets worry about 2008 when we get there. I am sure CSA are pure in their motives and it does make sense, maybe not financially. What concerns me is 2007. Now according to CGC i can affiliate direct (R75 + R150) which will give me entry and seeding in the remaining races for 2007. Good, so R225 to get a sort of license, compared to R248 for my car?? Now, what about 2008, do we still have the direct, maybe direct with CSA?? Do we have to join a club, club gear, membership, license???? I just feel that once again, the people enetring the races, thats the bulk of us "fun riders"are forking out stacks of cash, fine if we had some idea what it was for and even better if we knew how it would al work. Instead we have several ideas floating around but no hard and fast answer, like pay this and you can race and be seeded. Sitting on my A$$ and drinking beer is maybe not such a bad option, pity about the bike
  2. I e-mailed Gail Heuvel and received the application form. It refers to a R75 primary membership and a R150 direct affiliation. I asked which of these we would have to pay, and she replied "both". Nothing is as simple as it seems??
  3. Nope: R75 for primary membership AND R150 for direct affiliation. This will allow entry and seeding in 94.7 and Amashova.
  4. OK, so where do you go to get this CGC affiliation/licensing? The website is pretty useless, do we really have to phone them??
  5. Jip, but this group (temp lic) starts from the very back of the seeded riders, so you can sweat more and wish you belonged to a club...
  6. This is the response I got from the organisers of the AmaShova regarding the licensing issue: HI Theo,<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Thanks for your email. Yes you do have to be licensed to ride in the 106km race. If you do not belong to a club then you can buy a temp lic at registration and you will be seeded with all the temp lic cyclists. This is the norm for all races in KZN and JHB. Let me know if you need any more info. Many thanks Melissa Felt Right on the Night There we go, looks like I will not be riding the AmaShova as a cyclosport license requires club membership. Pity, will have to work on my boep...
  7. Hi, this issue has probably been discussed before, but I need the quick, straight answer. Apparently all races, Cycle Challenge and Shova etc, will now require licensing? A temporary license allows entry, but no seeding (according to Amashova website), while membership of a club is required for a full license giving the rider seedings based on the seeding index. Does this imply that if you don't belong to a club you will be starting from the back in future races?? The decision will be very easy.... Any info will be appreciated.
