  1. Short queues. Efficient number collection. Not much to write home about in terms of the expo though......
  2. Ordered a light from Easybike (Easygis) on Tuesday. Received yesterday, they threw in the courier service at no extra cost as they had a shipment coming up to Jhb. Awesome service!!!!
  3. Done. R100 for good measure. Have a good ride Roadie Cowgirl.
  4. Park Tool Big Blue Book of Bicycle maintenance si the way to go.
  5. I'm assuming you're on a 29er? 32 chainring? I usually ride 34-16/17/18 depending on the course, but have not tackled a race with big, long climbs yet. Will probably ride 34-17 in Cullinan I don't have the Watts that Jules has, so I suppose it depends on individual strengths and preferences.
  6. Does anyone have a Mavic Open 4CD rim they want to part with?
  7. Haven't had one myself, but have also done the research. Weight seems to be the biggest issue. If you aren't worried about a heavy back end then you should be fine. They seem to stand up to the European muddy conditions.

This will be my 4th year . Simply an awesome ride/race. Massive climbs, great technical riding and a great bunch of people. Day 1 finishes on Too Brutal. be prpared to carry the bike a bit, but it's well worth it. Day 2 has about 10 km of amazing downhill, then +-35 river crossings, all but 1 is rideable. Day ends on a monster climb as usual...but the beer at Piggs Peak is cold and the pool inviting. Day 3 has some tough climbs and some great technical downhill sections. Remember that the route is virtually unmarked, so check your navigation cards from time to time. Weather can be very hot in the valleys and very muddy if it pours with rain. You will not regret doing this race and are likely to want to come back every year for more Swazi action. P.S. waterpoints are great....hope they have the doughnuts again this year!
  9. If you have any problem getting one through the agents, try http://derailleurhanger.com/ They stock pretty much all hangers for all makes. Cheap and very efficient.
  10. I've been using the Gear Clamp for a few months with no issues at all. Not that I am the post powerful rider...and have a steel freebody. Chain alignment is piece of cake with this.
  11. Also consider Shimano Deore M595. They are the third most powerful disc brake on the market according to the Bikeradar dyno tests.....maybe not the best feel, but powerful! and cheap!
  12. The Singular uses a Phil Wood EBB. It is very simple to adjust the tension using an allen key, takes about a minute or two, so no need for half links. Currently running 34-18, but it's early days, will have to play around with ratios on different trails. I am using it purely offroad.
  13. My new best friend. the Singular Swift. This bike just works, the geometry is awesome, without a doubt the best ride I've ever owned!
  14. I'm a Hope fan. I have run mono mini's in the past and now use Tech X2s. 183 front 160 rear. Great feel, great stopping power....but not the cheapest. And the floating rotors look great! Have to say that ther is not much wrong with SLX though.
  15. Thanks SURFER. Will check it out. Will also contact RM directly and see if I can get them to send me one.
  16. Hi I am wanting to get a spare hanger for a Rocky mounrtin ETSX frame. Anyone know if there is an agent in SA who could help me out?
