  1. Hi Peeps Sorry for the late update. Work was upon as too soon but here are a few pics to show you how it went. See http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=317896&id=519477288 for more photos. Overall a great experience, we learnt a few lessons on our first trip but have come out wizer and already plannig our next trip. Up here in Gauteng we don't really see that much touring but I was pleasantly surprised with the people we saw along the route, the hospitality of the places we stayed and just the overall friendliness we encountered along the way. When doing races we tend to be too focussed in reaching a goal or time we anticipated, but often we forget the pure pleasure of just riding your bike and even more so if it's your primary transportation. But this time we definately didn't miss the gemsbokke running along with us or the many raptors we saw along the way. Remeber Mtb'ing is like French culture, the more the Americans strive to understand it the less they do. Francois
  2. I must second the BBB you get the bits as well, and you can set to a very low torque nessecary for bikes

  10. Why paint a frame to look like a new model when you could rather do something totally custom? Your'e anyway going through all the trouble of painting in.

  16. For about 1800 you can get the new sr suntous. Check the epicon it weighs in at about 1.65kg and has a good feel.

  21. So a friend had a little boo-boo and bent his steel framed peace. Does anyone know a framebuilder / engineering firm that will be able to save the frame and let peace continue.
  22. Get titanium and stop worrying. Oh and ride softer.
  23. Just get a good rimtape with a layer or two of insulation tape over that. Then just cut out the valve of an old tube and use that.
  24. As far as I know the sigma has been on the market quite a while, unless you get a really good deal its not worth it. Check the new Sigma's as well.
